Excellent! Both my sons attended Sheridan Elementary and had a wonderful experience. Best kept secret in Hamilton County for sure!

Sheridan Community Elementary School is one of the best ran operations I have seen! From the Principal, to the janitor this institution is ran with professionalism and moral conduct. The State test scores back up everything I have experienced as a very pleased parent!

Sheridan schools is the reason we moved to where we did. We were in a school system that was rated one of the highest in the state. However, I couldn't get time with teachers to discuss my child & was pretty much just another name on the roster! I could go on & on about the teachers & how caring, motivated, detail oriented, compassionate, & almost like family they are. The principals great! He's very aware of everything & takes part in as many aspects of the school that he can. He's active in the school everyday, as well as all school functions. He's also a great family man. The school, as a structure, is superb. It's up to date, high tech, & also very safe feeling with so many cameras around to view everything. It sits in a wonderful country setting that is quaint, quiet, & friendly, yet has the features, technical advances, & wonderful teachers of any "high class", private, city school. I moved here for the sole purpose of my children being able to go to a school like Sheridan School System. Since I found the perfect one, I'll never, for any reason, switch schools again. My youngest is 1 & my oldest is 9. I plan to have them all start & graduate from this school system.

The Sheridan School System is, in my opinion, the worst school system in Hamilton County. I would encourage you to look up the ISTEP & SAT/ACT scores for the district. Our children went there for 7 years. We then had the opportunity to send them to a private school. After leaving Sheridan, we had come to find out the education they had had received was sub-par at best. Our children were 2 years behind the other students in their current school. If you plan on your children going to college, you will need to pay for a private tutor for them to learn english and math, or pay additional college credits hours for remedial programs. The school system is plagued with career bureaucrats and tenured teaches, who treat you and your child in a menial manor. With that having been said, in certain grades there are fantastic individual teachers. In my experience, if you are looking for a good public education, Sheridan is not for you.

I absolutely love the school system here! My kids honestly do not ever want to go anywhere else. All staff, from teachers to cafetria workers all make an effort to know each child by name. The principal has been with the school district itself for about 15 years (in different positions)! There are many different programs for students in all learning levels! One word: Amazing!
