The experience in primary is good except in US math, things have to be done, so you don't have to take classes outside.It's mostly a school for french expatriates. For other, If your child has capacities to handle homework, this school will bring you to the best universities but it has a price. The financial situation because of sausalito campus and the expensive life in SF pushed some parents to go back to France or abroad. The visa's issues are not a plus. The teachers need more support and to be renewed less often because of cultural issues. The same with directors except if the school is only for french expatriates..Tuition remission or financial help are a plus. Diversity and parent involvement are a plus. Communication has to improve.

My kids are happy, have friends and get good grades. I credit this to the caring teachers and staff, rigorous curriculum, supportive community, innovative programs and activities, and an overall multilingual and multicultural approach. I highly recommend the Lycee.

Fantastic Private School! Bilingual program (French and English) and International community...More than 30 languages spoken among parents and really strong academic vision. Teachers and staff are amazing and supporting every child to thrive from La Pretite Ecole (2 year old) until the 12 grade.Proud to be part of that unique school...

My American son started in preschool in September 2018 and is having such a wonderful time! The teachers are warm and welcoming and provide many different learning opportunities. I love that he learns so much through play and socialization but also has beautiful (age appropriate) work sheets and art to be proud of. He entered the classroom not speaking a word of French and I was curious to see his reaction. After a couple of transition weeks he is completely at ease. He is even recognizing French outside of school and mixing his languages, a few words here and there casually at home! The classroom is very inclusive for non Francophone students with teachers taking time to work at each childs level to support them. The best thing is- my son is happy!

Best school ever. Our kids love it! The teachers are fantastic and the Sausalito campus is amazing. Our kids are perfectly bi-lingual and really thriving!

The Lycee Francais De Sausalito is a fantastic Campus. The Pre school is the best there is in Marin County. The class rooms are bright and modern and the playground is perfect for the young ones. My son is 4 years old and understands French really well and speaks pretty good also and it is only his second year. This school goes all the way from 3 years old to High school (in the city). The hours of school including before and after care are 7.30 am to 6pm. The school year acceptance AGE is from January 1st to December 31st. So you avoid the September 1st birthdate. Teachers are fantastic and the school is very International with parents from all over the world. Great school, great location and great education.

Fantastic school. My four kids love it. The school is academically top-notch in both French and English and provides a true immersion experience in a way that no other Bay Area French school does.

This school has gone through some management changes in the past two years, as well as a move to Sausalito. My child has been here for three years and we love the multiculturalism and the LACK of an overly sports focus. Their English program has also improved and the ERB scores are better than other public and private schools in the state. We love this school, the administration, and the community of families who attend.

After 6 years at Lycee, we removed our 2 children MID-YEAR in 2012-13 because of new, Frenchy leaders. We are happier 1. After 6 years at the Lycee, our 8-year old is fluent in French "The ideal bilingual student" by his Americanized teachers. Problems with new teachers - Boredom: I watched the teacher "reward" our son because he finished work early: "go get a book" - Not European: looking for alternative schools in Marin it shows Lycee kids are behind Marin public school kids by Grade 3/4 ie Lycee kids are less likely to enter a European University at 18 (St Andrews does not count. It is Scottish-they take kids at 17) 2. In her first year at the Lycee, our 3 year old loved Madame Christine and French. She skipped into school. In her 2nd year she was sad due to bullying by peers that was allowed by teachers; "kids will be kids" I spoke to teachers, head of campus, head of school system, chairman of board . I received 2 messages - "I am a professional, the parent has no business in the school" - "If you do not like it you can leave" So, we left Our eldest is at Willow Creek in Sausalito. He is SO HAPPY The now 5-yr old skips into her bully-free school every day

My granddaughter has been going to the Lycee for 3 years. She will be entering the first grade. It has been an outstanding school with loving teachers, and a great administration. She looks forward to going to school every day. We could not be happier with her progress.
