I’m a student at Tam, and I think the campus is beautiful! It honestly looks like a university campus. The architecture is absolutely stunning. This school honestly has some great teachers and courses that make me excited to learn. I feel like there are many options for electives and clubs here. Also, the environment of the school is pretty inclusive. There are many students from different backgrounds, and it seems that we fight back against inequalities. This school also is very flexible, and most staff are kind. Most of my teachers have helped me with accommodations.

Tam High has the best programs- better than my college back in the early 70s! The parents are involved, the community is involved- a lot of very talented people live in Mill Valley and they do provide support to the school. My son just graduated and was a top student- there are a lot of top students since the parents mostly are successful yet accessible- not snobby or as class conscious as some other top schools in Marin (although there is a moneyed crowd). Colleges I spoke to have said that Tam is "a competitive high school." So it is well thought of by college admissions. There are programs well funded by the affluent parents. The music program and mock trial for example are top award winners year after year. And the kids are just really nice. They grow uo fast around here, so some kids have to be watched but the school has great support for students such as ADHD types and they learn a lot. But it is not very insulated from realities of pot, etc. But crime isn't an issue. My second will start there in the fall.

Possibly the most beautiful school in the State. In looking at the API's of Marin High Schools, surprised Mt. Tam is not on Top. Son went to Redwood (Larkspur), transferred to Mt. Tam - no comparison, Mt. Tam easily surpasses Redwood. However, Marin City drives school API ratings far below what they should be. Should additionally be making the Tiburon/Belvedere kids go to Mt. Tam (their high school of residency), and quit allowing them to sneak off down the road to attend Redwood. Funny how everyone turns a blind eye to Tiburon/Belvedere kids enrolling into Redwood high (no Intradistrict transfers, no nothing). Send Marin City to Redwood and Tiburon/Belvedere back to us THEN check the API ratings.

The children from Marin City are a bonus to Tam, creating a diverse population of students. Children who overcome monitory and other challenges deserve a lot of respect from the community. Children who grow up in priviliged circumstances have no idea what it is like to grow up in difficult situations. Tam creates a warm environment where everyone can be successful, which is the life lesson all our children should be learning in High School--all inclusive.
