My child has attended this school for 3 years(she joined in the 6th grade) it was very nice in the 6th then PROGRESSIVELY got worse through out the years. 7th grade year was very horrible low staff, horrible head of school, 0 communication, not a great school community, children yell slurs and profanity and the teachers accept it. 8th grade year for my child was absolutely HORRIBLE! The principal was not great at all. She’s very racially motivated, picks and chooses which student she would pick on and every parent disliked her. My child barely learned only in math and ela which they have the best teachers!! Very unorganized. Closer to graduation there was an unnecessary $250fee made up by the principal with no additional reason. The graduation ceremony was nice but the staff are horrible! Do not recommend unless your enrolling k-5

Mission Dolores Academy is a wonderful school. They welcomed our daughter in 6th grade. She has had great, loving teachers. We feel extremely happy and grateful to have our daughter attending MDA. This school is a gem in the mission district. Students get the chance to have art, spanish, religion and music classes. Students also attend weekly mass, which is a really nice way to connect to others through prayers and religious songs. Our student loves singing. In addition to this, students are challenged academically and this is great if you child is interested in just learning more. I have seen my daughter becoming more independent and taking on projects of her own. This school is very organized, there is good communication with staff and they keep us informed about everything. Students are respectful, caring and friendly. When there are challenges, staff offer plenty of support to students. There are sport teams if your child is interested (basketball, soccer, volleyball) The building is also really nice, very simple and neat and students are encouraged to keep it that way. Having a classroom that is simple helps a lot with focus. It's been an absolute wonderful experience for our daughter to be attending MDA.

This school has real diversity and strong leaders. The teachers are great, strong language arts and math, an on site full time art teacher and many other community involved programs, gives all of the students a well rounded and strong education.

Academically they hire good teachers, this school offers well rounded education, including CYO sports, visual art, choir and strings music. The afterschool program is run separately by another organization. They offer hiphop and yoga afterschool. The lunch program is also run separate. The school administration office does not offer good communication and is not well structured. This school is predominantly for very-very low income households, which works well if you are not able to afford a minimal private education and will get financial assistance. The overall school atmosphere is not warm or helpfully informative. The majority of the parents are not friendly or well mannered. Definitely a social economic disparity demographicly. If you do want children to learn catholic theology this is a good religious education.

This school takes a holistic to education by not only developing body and spirit as well as the mind. Classwork is rigorous and academic standards are high. Physical Education places emphasis on the physical. And students are taught that God loves each and every one of them and challenged to ask themselves what Christ would would in their everyday situations. School sports include basketball, soccer and volleyball. Violin classes are offered and there is even a chess club. But most important of all, friendships are developed across all lines of the human fabric. I can't imagine sending my kid anywhere else.
