We have had a great experience with the teachers and education at Avon! They work hard to meet the needs of each student. I have one student who is ahead in learning and one who is behind. They each work in smaller groups in the class with students who are at the same level which makes learning much more enjoyable for them. The school also has fun events throughout the year that support the community atmosphere including the school dance for families, international night, and wellness night. I highly recommend this school!

Very poor relationship building with parents. The principal does not follow through and provides excuses why no action has been taken. The lack of care provided to the children is concerning.

As a parent of a student at Avon, I've been so impressed with the attention my son has gotten and everything he has learned. He does need some extra support in speech and he gets exactly what he needs and he loves his IEP group. He has made a lot of friends and has had a great experience himself which is also why I would recommend the school.

Overall, not good. Our student has been there through four years and two of them have been positive experiences. Given the per pupil cost and expectations associated with Grayslake School District, this school underwhelms. It's the only school with real diversity in the district and it's the outcast. I'm sure they'd like to move it to Round Lake Schools if they could.

Loved the teachers, especially Mrs. Martinez! She's very professional, kind, passionate and helpful! I wish all the teachers in this country were like her.

Teachers are great here, but Common Core Standards are ruinging our schools. Superintendent and others close to her need to go in this district too. See recent headlines, there are TONS of negative ones for this district, yet they keep raising taxes.
