This school is okay at best, it’s sad that it’s considered one the best in the parish. A whole lot of worksheets education with barely to none hands- on education. They don’t offer any extra curricular activities for the kids. They don’t offer music or art. The kids get burn out quickly at this school. The PTO acts like they’re a exclusive club of mean girls, They have been there for years and are not welcoming to new parents who want to be part of the PTO. I could go on and on. Definitely not impressed with this school and glad we are done with it!

This school is rated highly but falls drastically short when it comes to students with disabilities. Harsher punishments for disabled children, grudges held against them, even when behavior is from their disability.

This school was great. Small hometown feel which reminded me of being back home (military family here). They are one of the highest rated schools in the district which is great when you have 2 kids who need to be challenged etc. My 2 had no issues while we were stationed here. They both did great in school and made plenty of friends. I could contact teachers with no issues

We are new to this school and in the almost 7 months we've been here we love the school so far.

Rosepine Elementary is a wonderful school. My son had two wonderful teachers Ms. Day and Mrs Davis.

Average is the rating I've given and that's about the best thing I can say about RES. I had 3 children in RES and I am so grateful that they are out of there. Like any school, RES has some great teachers (especially the Headstart & Kindergarten programs), but the majority are just passable. I put my 3rd grader into Hicks and she went from trying to add and subtract money to a class where the children already knew multiplication, division, and cursive. It was a HUGE leap compared to RES. My oldest claimed that she was "doing about the same things" in her Hicks 5th grade class as at RES, but when I saw her math papers the difference was ASTOUNDING; she was already working on 6th grade state requirements in Geometry at Hicks. Hicks has a poor review here, but you must take into account that as a rural community there are very few people in the Hicks community that have access to the internet (it's still dial-up out there) except at the school which has a decent computer lab. I'll grant that the "bells & whistles" may not be abundant at Hicks, but I'll take children that come home acutally CAPABLE and LEARNED over dances and constant extracurricular activities in the classroom.
