This is by far my favorite school in this area. I have had 2 kids go to this school. The teachers and faculty are knowledgable, engaging, compassionate, nurturing, and professional.

I would give this school one star mainly because the teachers lack compassion, patience, & professionalism. They also lack classroom management skills in which most them need to retake that course. Sending children to office for stepping on a classmate shoestring or grabbing a color pencil from another child is pure foolishness. Your job as a teacher is to redirect the child when they are doing wrong which should be apart of your classroom management plan. If you can't deal with children then why teach. A child will be a child they make mistakes, just like adults. But, the problem is we have more teachers teaching just for a pay check. Now I see exactly they are rating a C school. After, this year I will be enrolling my children elsewhere.

Academically my son has never had any issues. He's learning exceptionally well and the teachers do a great job educating. However, I do feel they are lacking in the nurturing department. These kids below the age of 7, but seem to get treated with impatience and get punished for the most insignificant things. I do think some of the punishments are too harsh for children of this age. So if your child comes home with their card put on red, don't fret. It is often times because they were singing or talking in the bathroom, dropped their crayons on the floor or doing other things that children do because they are CHILDREN.

my grandson is enjoying kindergarten so far. He has already finished 3 books on his own in the first week of school, and my daughter really likes the faculty of this school. and my neice whose children attended this school in their earlier years really enjoyed the campus and teachers.

My Daughter is a Special Education Student and this school has been TERRIFIC. Mainly Her teacher Mrs. R. Jones is an outstanding educator with tons of experience and CARES about her students. I will be very sad when she has to move on to Carver. Which is in a bad part of town and not very well spoken of.

We moved here in 2011 and my experience at this school has been positive. My son has had wonderful teachers and has excelled in their curriculum. Communicating with his teachers has never been a problem. They have responded quickly and are happy to have interested and actively involved parents. The entire Beaureguard Parish school district has a parent connection web site where they can check on their child's status regarding grades for the 9 weeks or individual assignments, or absences. The school is a bit older but they are adding updates and improvements ALL the time. The playground equipment has been updated and just this past year they have built a brand new wing for the Pre-K classrooms. The principle has been warm and approachable and always visible in the school. I must agree with one of the other reviewer, there is one particular person in the front office, that just seems unhappy and it translates into a pinched face and rude/rushed interactions. The biggest issue I have is the opportunity to volunteer...there are opportunities, but they aren't really posted or promoted very well and you have to seek them out. The PTO needs work.

I gave 3 stars only because of the great teacher my daughter got this year. I start with the administration office. There is one lady that just hates that job or she is naturally born rude. It's seems that manners are not part of profesionalism. But what professionalism are we talking about when the head person of that school has preference? Just check on the year book from last year and the only kids you will find are the nieces, nephews and family friends of "Beaugard Parish Principal of the year"

my 5 year old son got suspended for a breaking a pencil. you would think their was a better way of dealing with that than sending him home

I think that this school is over-rated in part that it is based on the "who is related to you basis" it's politically enhanced and if you look at the statistics nationally.....you all su**. Its a small town with skeletons and those skeletons are representing our children, whether they are thieves, child abusers, badge wearing misfits, and swingers...this place is sorry!!! GO AWAY!!!

This school worries me. My children have been going to this school sense 2008 and the education being taught is not the grade level. K is more or less 1st and 2nd grade education and 1st is more or less 2nd and 3rd grade education. The teachers do not like how things are being taught but yet will do anything about it. Some teachers have a large student fail rate. One teacher in particular had 18 students in the class at which 7 were held back. If students are not understanding the work some are pushed aside so that the ones who do understand get extra attention. One thing that doesn't make sense, is a grade below 75 is failing. The only thing I get when I ask about how things are being taught is this. " We are teaching the grade level as told by the State." The STATE????
