Our child loves Waterbury! My husband and I are both educators, and we are very impressed with our child's education. The curriculum taught is research-based, our child always makes growth, and loves her teachers!! I love that there is a before-school/after-school childcare program through the park district that is also convenient, safe, and fun. Parents are very involved, the PTO is always welcoming to families, and there are many ways to involve yourself in the school as a parent. There are fun clubs too after school for older students, and our child definitely takes advantage of those opportunities!

This school says that care about bullying, but it keeps happening to good student. The staff doesn't call the parents when bullying happens you have to find out from your child first. I wish they would take this more seriously especially in this time.

The teachers are extremely hard working and genuinely care about the students' success. The school has a great community feel and is definitely a main attraction to the neighborhood. My child was well prepared for middle school and beyond! Great memories from this school!

We as a family love Waterbury. The teachers and staff are great. Always trying to make a better school for our kids.

I have to concur with a previous parent that expressed issues with a child that has special needs. There is a terrible failure of communication throughout the staff at the school. The teacher my child had seemed to think that nothing bad ever happened within their classroom. When attempting to talk with admin like the principal or vice principal nothing ever happened but a lot of talk.

Regular and frequent communcation from teacher to parent of special need child is lacking. District is not on top of the needs of the child. If you have a Special Needs child, look elsewhere.
