Academically they are great but that’s about it . Kindergarten aids are terribly cold and unpleasant. One of the teachers was wonderful but she has stepped down, the second teacher is large and in charge. She favors who she favors and once she dislikes your child, there is no going back. Notes are sent home non stop, kids are treated like they are in boarding school. They are basically not allowed to have any interaction besides a high five. In church, they will tap them on their back to sit up straight, mind you, these are 5/6 year old kids. There is tons of cliques , parents are such KARENS. Everyone gossips, faculty talks about kids to other teachers and parents, how unprofessional . Older grade teachers are way better . There is actually warmth versus the younger grades where that’s where kids require a nice hello or praise .

Stay away from St. Walter school in Roselle for as long as the current Principal and the Dean of Students are part of the administration. There is favoritism, bullying, incompetence and double standards. I will also mention the Technology teacher and the Spanish teacher who are very incompetent in their teaching skills and dealing with children. This administration utilizes a dojo system for the junior high students (teenagers), a system that other schools in the area used in kindergarten. They penalize kids with negative dojo points for anything, depending on what the teacher feels on that day: It starts with basic needs such as drinking water in class, needing to go to the bathroom, uncharged Chromebooks, even trying to ask questions in class if the teacher doesn’t know the answer, doesn’t feel like answering the question or doesn't like your kid, then dojos are generously given, even 2-3 from same teacher on same period, really anything is a go for students to receive negative dojos (5 dojos=demerits). Teenagers can’t develop/express openly at St. Walter. St Walter school administration is looking to “educate” an army of minions and not leaders of the future. Unless you are one of the major donors or related to the administration, expect that your child will be bullied and/or neglected and nothing will be done about it. Do your research very carefully before you send your child at St Walter. There are so many other good schools in the area.

Since the new principal came in there's a lot of teacher turnover and a revolving door at the front office. Not good signs with the new leadership.

St. Walter is a good school and their academics are definitely up to par with the local public schools. However, if you aren't there for the Catholic education, you may be better off sending your children to the local public school. There are many snooty families that have an entitled attitude and think their children and family should get special treatment because they are paying for private school tuition. The Catholic identity is not strong here. The school has changed so much over the last 10 years.

Unfortunate to say but students here especially 6th graders who plays basketball are "Bullies" sayong nasty & cursing during game, with that being said if you're in a catholic school you should know you're manners & you should know how to respect others! Dont bring your kids here FYI!!!

Two of my children have attended St. Walter's and while we have been generally satisfied we have chosen to utilize the public school for our third child. Academics are on par with local district 13 and Roselle District. Smaller class sizes exist in the public school setting. I grew up attending Catholic Schools and have always felt very appreciate of my Catholic Education however I have felt that St. Walter's has become more of a "private school" with parents more worried about name brands and BMW's and escalades than the moral Christian Character of their children. Of course their are exceptions and wonderful people, but in one year we have felt more character emphasis at the public school.

NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE! The students are very rude, greedy, snobby, and wannabe's. I don't feel like the kids are learning virtues and how to be nice. I don't want to be mean but i really would never bother to send my kids here. When I was a kid, I played basketball on a school team and every time we versed them, and they won, they would rub it in our faces and the coaches would laugh at us. I truly don't think that the school should be teaching their students like this.

St Walter is effective and highly organized in everything they do. They have objective systems in place that enable all students to succeed, so long as the student puts in the effort. They offer everything possible to assist working parents, and I feel they go above and beyond to ensure the safety of all children is never in jeopardy. The BASIC program is fantastic, Mrs Burke and company have set a high standard for after school programs.
