I read a review, I strongly disagree with: Frederick Nerge staff are doing their best: For the Parents, there are some they work very hard for our kids. But some have to be so judgment hurtful: So special shout out to staff At Frederick Nerge Elementary School Great job. If a parent gets to you: At end of the day dance it off.

Nerge was a very good school until political agendas took over. Schools are for learning, not pushing your beliefs on students. The remote learning year was a complete disaster. Many students were lost and the school Administrators had no plans and were very disorganized. Student learning suffered. Many special needs students were hurt mentally and academically. Unless school District 54 Administrators start doing their job and keep their political beliefs and state political agendas out of our school, I'm afraid it will only get worse. Stick to academics. Listen to real science and not state mandates. We are nearing the point where parents will need to step in to turn things around in school district 54.

As a parent I’m very happy that my child gets to experience education in caring and supportive environment. Currently, it is remote learning due to the pandemic. I appreciate that when lockdown first occurred in March of 2019 there was a virtual learning protocol in place already. iPads and chrome books were provided for learning. Students and families who depended on meals from school still received them. A crisis fund was created so that the community can donate to provide to our school families in need.Although, my child misses in classroom learning and learning is different this 20-21 school year it’s comforting to know that the school takes the safety and health of their staffs and students very seriously, and is continue remote learning until a safer way to return to school is put in place. The teachers and staff have been wonderful with communication. We’ve always received weekly newsletter from our principal. Teachers are good about returning emails and keeping us up to date with classroom activities.Overall, we’re so very glad we’re part of a caring community and a wonderful, inclusive school. We also appreciate the diversity. The more the better so I do hope that diversity continues to grow as well.

I would rate this school as a 10. Everyone in the building is focused on teaching the children & making the school a safe environment. The teachers are a creative and talented bunch. Any learning or social concerns have been addressed in a timely and professional manner. My children love going to school every day.

I love this school. A positive learning environment - teachers are great! If I ever have to move my home / states for the job I wish there was a way to carry this school with me out of state :-)
