We love Valor Christian Academy! Public schools are just not an option for our family as what is taught goes against our Christian values and beliefs, so finding Valor has been a dream come true! We've been at the school for 4 years now and our children are thriving academically, socially, and spiritually. The teachers and support staff are loving, patient, and kind and you can just feel the love they have for the kids. It is a family friendly, nurturing environment and we are very blessed to be a part of this awesome community. Call for a tour and see for yourself why Valor is the best Christian school in the south Bay!

We have been apart of this school for now 2 1/2 years and this review is long overdue. We couldn’t be more happy with this school and the biblical foundation it offers. We are so thankful we have found valor.

It seems like a lot of these negative reviews are coming from unhappy parents who left Valor. Teachers are well educated and know what's best for their students. Students may get below grade level reading because of their reading level. They progress to their reading level goal by the end of the school year. That's called "progress", not "perfection". Teachers use worksheets because the worksheets are part of the curriculum. Also, they use other beneficial resources to support student learning. Not only do they use worksheets, they use other methods of teaching such as educational games & research based projects for student success. Please don't be influenced by these negative reviews. Take a tour and see what Valor is all about. Thanks!

Our kids attended this school for two years. Unfortunately, the academics at this school are below standards. This is so sad because as a Christian institution a pursuit of knowledge should be highly valued. It seems like learning and excelling in academics is not a priority at this school. Teachers without credentials or teaching outside their fields. Assigning reading below grade level, lots of worksheets, and busywork and not correcting incorrect grammar or spelling on assignments. In addition, the school is woefully unable to handle social emotional situations like bullying. The administration does not respond to concerns. It is far below the quality you could get at a public school (LAUSD even).

My child loved and thrived immensely at Valor. When asked where she gained so much knowledge about God at such a young age, we were able to say Valor Christian Academy. We have never experienced anything out of the ordinary at school or with the staff-teachers. They're very accommodating to children with special needs that need extra help, they've always been very hands on. In fact students have even kept in contact with various teachers and come back for visits on occasion. We were told they have new programs through family church groups which we wish they had when our child was there but so happy others can experience the new blessings that are on campus. Will definitely recommend Valor Christian Academy to anyone that needs a safe private school.

I've been a parent at Valor Christian School for a while now, and I gotta say, our experience has been really good. What matters most is how they handle things, and Valor does it well. When it comes to education, Valor gets that every kid's got their own way of learning. They've got support systems for all kinds of learners, making sure our kids get the best education possible while instilling conservative Christian values. Now, I'll admit, the buildings ain't the fanciest, but what goes on inside those walls is what counts. The teachers and staff are dedicated, and they create a place where kids can learn and grow.Valor's got this real sense of community that's hard to find elsewhere. Lately, things have been more peaceful, and it's been good for everyone. It is a solid place for our kids' education, rooted in conservative Christian values. They're all about improving and making sure our kids get a good education while upholding those values. We're looking forward to many more years of good times at Valor.

I’ve been a part of the Valor family for many years now, and I’ve finally decided to leave a review. There have been recent changes, and I believe they are changes for the better. When you walk inside the office now, the energy is positive and genuine, exactly what you would expect from a school that knows Him, loves Him, and loves others. The teachers here make it a priority to not only teach the students, but to get to know each student on a personal level which is important to me as a parent. You can tell that every teacher wants the best for his/her student, spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. I feel at peace knowing my children are at a school where they are safe, loved, and cared for by teachers and staff.

Our experience at Valor Christian School has been incredibly positive. Despite some challenges, the school's dedication to excellence shines through.Safety is a top priority, and the introduction of the "Dads on Guard" program has greatly enhanced security. These fathers actively participate in campus patrols, contributing to a heightened sense of safety and community.Valor fosters a strong sense of community, which positively impacts the overall atmosphere. The school also offers invaluable support for students with diverse learning styles. In addition, Valor provides enriching after-school programs, including chess, sign language, music lessons, and programs teaching financial responsibility. These offerings broaden students' horizons and equip them with essential life skills. The "Care and Recreation" (C&R) program, designed for parents working late, provides students with a safe environment, homework assistance, and tutoring.Valor Christian School continues to impress us with its commitment to safety, academics, community, and enriching programs. We look forward to more years of success and growth at Valor.

It’s true that the school has gone through changes in the last year, but there has never been so much unity amongst the parents and staff at the school than now. Change isn’t easy, but sometimes necessary. The believer knows that difficulties bring forth wisdom and endurance. Being open during the pandemic brought in a lot of families that were not in line with the standards and beliefs of the school. Thankfully with the new positive changes, people that were used to getting their way, are no longer there. Unfortunately, this included one very toxic employee that instead of guiding parents to speak directly to teachers or administrators to constructively solve problems together as a team and find solutions, were told to completely disregard protocol. Instead, they were misguided and encouraged to go behind backs and over people’s positions. This is not the Valor/Christian way and I, as an imperfect parent, value the integrity that is being upheld by the school for both students and staff across the board. No school is perfect, but there is an agenda that is being pushed in public schools that I don’t want my children to be a part of. Our son has truly loved all his teachers from Pre-School through Elementary. I’m glad that the parents that were unhappy left. May God guide them in the right direction. I’m thankful it has opened the door and space for new parents to join and truly see for themselves what Valor is all about. With God at the center, I’m confident He will grow the school and all the glory will be His!

Valor Christian academy is a wonderful school. The teachers care about the students and go above and beyond what is expected. They meet each student where they're at and help them learn and grow. The students know they are loved and cared for. Valor offers many extra resources classes including PE, Library, Computers, Spanish, and STEAM. All classes TK-5th participate in these resource classes every week. Middle school gets to select their electives including the above and more. Students get more attention with class sizes being much smaller than the average public schools in the area. The academics are above average and test scores show above other area schools. On top of the traditional subjects, students get a Bible lesson each day and meet for a chapel weekly. The chapel speaker is one of the local pastors from a nearby church. There is a nice diversity in the school and staff. The school is like another family. You can really tell that the teachers and staff care about each other and the students and their families. There are also additional classes offerer after school such as academic chess, violin, piano, art, Lego engineering and more! There is before and after school care with the same staff that supervises recesses, lunches, and helps in the classrooms. If you're in the market for a school that offers a safe, caring environment with the addition of the Bible, look no further! Call and make an appointment for a tour and see for yourself!

Painful review to write.. We were at Valor for a few years. Our experience the first year was amazing, more than words can express! I shouted it through the rooftops & recommended it to everyone. The school is small & can look a little jagged and run down (it is) but we felt at home. However the 2022-23 school year was rough. The school acquired a new principal, we were prayerful because she had been part of the staff and we thought she shared the same vision. But titles change people. The bible tells us, we should not be prideful, but this is the leader she became. We waited for an ounce of humbleness to peek but ego took over. The last draw for us was the incident that occurred In the TK & Kinder classes, where children were being exposed to sexual behaviors by another child in the restroom, multiple incidents happened. The principal dismissed it as “boys will be boys” there’s nothing to see here. These boys were allowed to stay on campus as she deemed it wasn’t “age appropriate” to ask these children to stay home, or warrant suspension. Our children felt unsafe, the parents were terrified that these behaviors were condoned. She called the parents “a group of gossipers” for trying to find a solution for safety in the classroom. Lastly she dismissed it as “this will happen anywhere”. So taking those words to heart, please consider where you are sending your children to. This school isn’t much a step up from public schools. We’ve since moved on & the one thing parents share with this school is the lack of academics. Families have left Valor, seems to be more of a trend lately. The one consistent issue they have had to deal with is their children being extremely behind in their academics at their new schools. Valor has failed them. Some children have had to repeat the year because they are extremely far behind based on Valors lacking standards. It’s pouring tuition into a pit. Lastly, in a report sent to parents in 2020, it shows staff discount is 100% & other discounts very steep as well. Valor gives over $500,000 a year in tuition discounts!!! Why they cannot afford to care for the campus; why it looks run down and restrooms are repulsive. Some classroom locks DO NOT work, they cannot afford to replace. This is unsafe & terrifying! Valor offers about 2 extra curricular activities. You are paying for the staff children’s tuition & leaving your child’s education to the pieces Valor can afford. They lack curriculum & training.

My experience at this school has been wonderful. The teachers are caring and supportive, and it's apparent they love what they do. They are invested in helping the students, preparing the students for the next grade level, and encouraging them to be life-long learners. What I like most about the learning environment is the Biblical worldview that is weaved into the subjects and various activities on campus. The different events like the Mother-Son Day and the Daddy-Daughter Dance are always fun events that my children and I have enjoyed. The after-school programs have offered additional activities such as Violin, Chess, STEM, and Sign Language that have been great options for my children. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a loving environment for their children to learn godly principles at school.

My experience has been fantastic! My daughter graduated from this school and she is fully equipped and ready for high school. The teachers and administration are fabulous and have great communication skills as well as walk alongside the parents and are approachable on both a personal and academic level. This school is truly a blessing.

Valor has amazing nurturing teachers and staff. On top of that, their academics are amazing, where all grades on average are performing one grade level higher. Most importantly, everything they do at Valor, from classroom instruction to student-teacher interactions to community outreach, is guided by biblical principles and a desire to share God's love.

We used to love Valor. Unfortunately with the change in Principal last year Valor is no longer the same. The worst part is that the School Board ignores parents and their feedback. We are very disappointed with the new leadership (or lack thereof). Hopefully the School Board wakes up and takes control of the school before more families leave. They are also lacking in academics and resources for the students. Choose wisely!

Most teachers are amazing!Administration and some teachers support bullying by ignoring daily reports of bullying activity. They accept and protect bullies, their lack of action against bullies encourage bullies to continue with the behavior.

This school is great for numerous reasons; first and foremost the leadership and faculty truly love and care for our children. They are always looking to do what is best for the children and to improve. The teachers give so much to support the children. We have direct contact with the teachers via email, phone, chat, and even text. I have seen major improvement with my child in the fifth grade. She prepares them for middle school, and continually communicated with us to help us get the most out of our child. The school is completely digital and the use of Chromebooks in the classroom prepares our children for the world. This is a Christian school and those values are always present. Academically the children on average exceed the standard testing scores which is testament to a quality education. All in all this school has been a blessing to my family over the years.
