My family has moved around a bunch. Brooklyn, Upper Montclair NJ, Nashville, Ojai Ca and now Hermosa. My kids have been in private and public schools. Without a doubt, this school district is the best. I have no idea what the one bad review is here on this school. I think she is mistaken this school for some other school.

Academics: wouldn’t recommend. Very behind national averages. Spelling program: non:existent Science: amplify: holistic new world application-unable to teach History-just fine Math: Eureka math. Come to school her and plan on tutoring on the Daily. Your child will miss the basic standards of multiplication, long division, addition and subtraction. English: sorely lacking in reading comprehension. School system has no money and depends on all outside funds. You’ll constantly be asked for money. Houses are very expensive in the district. Don’t be fooled. Schools are not good at all.

Our daughter is in kindergarten and we have had a wonderful experience at Hermosa View this far. Very involved parents, bright and happy students, and a dedicated administration. Our only gripe is the lack of after-school enrichment programs, but they are working to address that.

This school is an amazing place, where my older daughter started Kindergarden mid year in January 2013, after we moved from Ireland. She got a lovely, caring teacher whom she will remember for ever. She has learnt a lot since, made numerous friendships and bloomed into a responsible and eager to learn second-grader. I am so glad that she attends Hermosa View. The teachers and the principal are 300% committed to our kids well-being, as well as social and academic success. I can't wait for my 4-year old to enter Her OSA View net fall!
