This is my son first year at Wakefield Middle School and he really enjoys the schools' atmosphere. The teachers are very supportive of his academic needs and are always pushing him to be his best. He especially loves his ELA teacher; he says his teachers are rigorous but at the same time loving/caring.

If you’re a teacher stay far far away from this school. The principal is the most selfish human being I’ve ever met. She treats the adults stricter than the students. The kids at the school know they can do whatever they want and get away with it. I would not send your child to this school. They barely suspend students because they don’t want their numbers to go up so they get away with almost everything.

We moved to this school district last summer from NJ. The entire enrollment process was a challenge, and the data manager at Wakefield Middle is not a nice person. She was incredibly rude and unhelpful as I was trying to navigate a major change for my family. That was the first issue. The second major issue is the lack of communication and disorganization here. My son has always had a 504 plan due to his ADHD. The school had all of his records yet failed to initiate any type of 504 discussion. I finally reached out to the guidance counselor to inquire as to when our meeting would take place. The school indicated they had no idea. Finally, the last straw and my biggest disappointment was with my son’s math teacher. My son was taking advanced math. Being in a remote learning environment for the majority of the year was a challenge. My son would email his teacher questions or ask for assistance, but would never hear back from him. I finally intervened after his teacher sent me a message and said my son was failing to do his work. However, my son had taken initiative multiple times to schedule additional help and ask questions but was never able to get his teacher to respond. His teacher ignored my emails on several occasions as well when I inquired as to what was going on. I eventually had to get the principal and guidance counselor involved to communicate with him. Overall, it was incredibly disappointing. He admitted he was bad with technology, yet that was the way we were forced to adapt and there’s no excuse for not responding to a student. My son said he didn’t learn anything as most of the “teaching” consisted of just having the students watch videos and play math games. The EOGs proved this to be accurate as my son received a 97% in the class for the quarter and an “A” for the year but was told he wasn’t proficient in math based on the EOG. Seems very strange and a definite disconnect. Overall, some of the teachers were fine, but the caliber of this school is not what I’m used to nor does there seem to be an emphasis on good communication and a partnership with parents. We are switching schools for high school next year. I would not recommend.

Wakefield Middle has been a good school for my son. He does really well in in classes as he is super dedicated to getting good grades. If ever I have a concern, I address it with Principal Cleveland who makes sure my concern is addressed. We all have to take part in helping our children be successful. I do recommend this school, as Wakefield Elementary was wonderful for my son & Wakefield Middle was just fine as well. Hoping that Wakefield High School is a great experience for my son, as he prepares for college.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. This school is detrimentally dangerous and unsafe. Their are fights all the time and my daughter was a victim of these incidences. She had to fight two young men and then she was given an infraction and it wasn't even her fault. Then the teachers give out infractions and don't even notify parents that their child has been in trouble. Another child pulled my daughters hair out and again the teachers were no where to be found. All of this happened to my daughter within the two weeks of her getting transferred into the school. The teachers are a hit or miss because the same incident that happened with her fighting the two boys was watched by a so called responsible teacher. This is not the school for no child to attend and for me to be coming from out of town this has been the worst experience thus far and Wakefield Elementary is no better.

ok. ordinary. I haven't experienced any major negatives other than unclear and inconsistent syllabi and h/w communication with parents. All responsibility is left with students, making it hard for parents to f/u effectively.

I recently transferred from a horrible school to this one, and I am so happy here! At first it was overwhelming but now I actually enjoy going to school

My daughter goes to this school. It seems to be a wonderful community school. Her classroom load is a little heavy, more than she would like, but I take that as a GOOD sign. Most of the teachers seem to really care about educating the kids. I don't hear a lot about classroom drama, therefore, I would say teachers have control of the classroom and are able to educate. My daughter is maturing nicely and growing in positive ways under their watch. Not sure what more I can ask? Great Job !

This school is not good at all. The administration is a joke. Glad I moved my kids out of the environment.

This school is awsome because it has a great diversity of kids. I myself have made plenty of friends.

Great school. The principal is wonderful and regularly keeps parents informed through parent email messages. The staff is very caring about the students and understanding of the age group they are dealing with.

This school has a very good teacher base. Students at this school do well with their academics and teachers make sure they know their material before jumping ahead to new things. Sports teams are very good. Principal is wonderful. Staff is very calm and keep the children interested in school. Students are taught well and with enough disipline to keep a middle schooler in check.
