I am thoroughly unimpressed with this school. Teachers are just going through the motions and not looking out for the best interests of their students.

My children started July 2021 and are thriving. Our older child skipped Kindergarten thanks to COVID and neither of our children attend pre-school or anything similar. They quickly caught up thanks to their hard work combined with amazing teachers and staff. The Administration is top-notch. The communication is stellar. The atmosphere daily throughout the school is one of genuine care and positivity. Every staff member is generous with their time. I've volunteered as much as I could so that I could see what my children experience daily and have joined them for lunch weekly (since that perk reopened). We are grateful that we are apart of NFP. Schoo started shortly after a big cross country move, a lot of change for our kids - and yet - they feel they totally belong. Our younger child had separation issues thanks to COVID having us on such a long lock down mixed with the fact we lived remote from family and friends - our children had never left our side. The principal (Ms. Light) noticed it and was immediate to reach out asking if we would like the counselor to meet with him regularly and to have the psychologist recommend a book. Ms. Light (principal) kept in touch and celebrated his wins along the way.

We have only been at this school for 5 months and will be withdrawing tomorrow to provide the education that my child needs. We have been lied to by the school and teacher and the principal has ignored my request for documentation. I have informed the superintendent about this. The teacher has also incorrectly graded his assignments, which I have shared with other parents in the area. This was with a teacher who had over 10 years of experience too. Pay attention to their falling test scores.

My daughter has been in the special education preschool class here. Her teacher has been amazing and same for her teacher's aids. They work very hard to reach the iep goals and my daughter has progressed in so many ways. Can't say much about the rest of the school, and we've never had a problem so I don't know about conflict resolution at this school. The "big kids" involved in special education seem to be happy. Hope this helps.

NFP has been GREAT for my 3 Kids! We have had some different principals throughout their time there, all with different styles, i see people have complained about former principals but I feel very differently and that they have benefited fromEach one. The assistant principal has been the same since we started there 5 years ago and she is phenomenal. Professional and really takes the time to know the parents as well as the children. Mrs. Bell, new principal for 2018 is very present and has done a great job right Out the gate. The teachers are top, patient , love Out kidss..and we could not be happier with all three kids going there! We are Track 4 and have delt with almost all the track 4 teachers, being that we have twins and they are in separate classes each year so we have had pretty much every track 4 teacher.. all great at what they do.

This is a predominantly white staffed school with no understanding or assistance to the black children with learning disabilities. The administration allows bullying and does very little to help the kids feel safe and protected from bus stop pick up to bus stop drop off. They allow a disadvantage to certain kids. This is one of the schools that falls under the racist category with the Wake Forest Schools. When you speak with Mrs. Lavery she is very unprofessional and condescending. Her presence antagonizes the children and the relationships with the parents as well. Please don't think its all the teachers, mainly the principal and office staff. The security is also over the top. They can only follow the direction of their leader. With a poor leader comes a lack of structure and purity. One bad apple can spoil your kids learning experience.

My child has had a great two years at this school. She has had wonderful teachers and everyone is so helpful at this school. I can't believe she's going to be a 5th grader. - a parent

I am very disappointed with new principle. She is not understanding with a parents needs when there is a situation out of control with a parents request for a student to be moved. But new students have priority over the students already there for tract. We took a huge lose when we lost Syreet Smith. She took time to listen and was understanding to help a parent with a situation. It was important for her to take part with class work, activities. It was more than a job to her. You never see the new principle. She is either in her office, meetings, or just gone.Never see her in each class to see how classes are taught. The car pool situation was not thought through at all. It doesn't make sense to send the kids to gym before going to the car pool. It adds a additional 10 minutes to get your child and get home. Actually it is foolish. The old way worked great. Hopefully someone with Wake County will look into this before this school looses its reputation and rating.

Since Syreeta Smith has left the school, it seems that the school has gone down hill. If something don't change the rating will go down. You never see the principal. She don't go around and go into the classrooms like Syreeta did. And this carpool thing is a joke. What was wrong with the way that it was?? I have to get my child out early one day a week to make it to piano lessons because if not she will be late. The principal is not understanding when you go to her with a problem. I never had problems with the teachers but their reputation will go down if the principal don't change.

This used to be a GREAT school when it was under the leadership of Syreeta Smith! The new administration/principal Nanette Lavery is terrible. There is no communication or returned calls from the principal when there is a concern. The principal and many staff members respond sarcastically when parents try to offer suggestions or ask questions. Teachers spend way too much time on their cell phones texting etc. during instructional time. Several teachers and specialists at this school obviously do not enjoy their jobs as students describe them as "grumpy all the time." New rules implemented by Ms. Lavery regarding carpool have extended the carpool line/time tremendously. Suggestions to improve fall on deaf ears.

My child is a fifth grader at North Forest Pines. She has been at NFP since Kindergarten. My daughter has loved everything about NFP! Her teachers have all been phenomenal! They have challenged her and prepared her for middle school! Our principal and assistant principal are also awesome! They support the students, teachers and parents in any way that they possibly can. All of the staff makes me feel welcomed every time I walk into the building. Thank you North Forest Pines for taking such good care of my baby all of these years! I hope that we will have this great of an experience in middle school!

Being a parent at this school I am not too pleased with the principal or the assistant. The last principal was fantastic. She plays favorites towards students as well as teachers. There are several teachers there that are below standards, never there, no discipline in the classrooms, some teachers are on their cell phones or internet when they are suppose to be teaching our children, the aides there some are doing what they are suppose to do but others do not(favorites or maybe they don't rock the boat or related to someone else) she lets the good teachers and aides go but keeps the ones that do nothing, when they have subs there are no lesson plans or they have the sub figure out what to do. The school has rules yet when they are enforced the employees are frowned upon. But isn't that what rules are for? I can't figure it out. Some rumors around, state that teachers are giving scores to students higher than they should to make them look good. I would think twice about sending your child there, my student is leaving. Also, just because this school has a good rating doesn't mean it's an accurate rating they can be fudged too.
