Our experience with this school has been horrible! My daughter has been going to this school since preschool up till third grade. I had to remove my daughter from the school after so many poor communication problems with 3 of the teachers and the head principal who seem to only care about her image as the principal rather than the concerns of the students and parents. Based on the horrible advice and several different conversations about my daughter’s tragic experiences I’ve had with the main principal. I realize I was getting nowhere in hopes of A change. My daughter would come home almost every day complaining about how she was being bullied and treated unfairly at that school.

My husband and I deeply regret our choice of sending our child to school here. If you have any kind of academic hopes for your child this is not the place for you. Don’t dare suggest you want your child to succeed beyond average. They will quickly shut you down and remind you that their full focus needs to go on the underperforming. This school is terrible at providing accommodations for students who have twice exceptional abilities. The go to response for professionally recommended and requested accommodations is “that is not legally required”. This phrase was repeated to us on multiple occasions. What can we do to help? That’s a question you’ll never be asked. I left meetings in full blown tears. Don’t expect teachers to go above and beyond. Our experience involved teachers doing the bare minimal with an attitude about it. Admins will continually defend this behavior. The vice principal is great but I was not a fan of the principal at all. My child was commonly left sitting in the hallway an hour after school let out due to the bus arriving late every single day. Needless to say my husband and I quickly made the decision to get our child out of this school ASAP.

Wake Forest Elementary is the best school! The staff LOVES the students and take extra good care of them. My little one had anxiety about returning to school and although virtual learning was working okay, we made the decision to have him go back. It was definitely the right thing for him! He came home that first day so excited, and he couldn't wait to go back. He's been like that every day. I love this school and wish every child had teachers like his!

Someone needs to remove those old reviews. Wake Forest Elementary is amazing! I've had children there for seven years. My youngest will go to middle school next year and we will miss everyone there. The teachers and administration bend over backwards to make sure students get what they need. I'm so glad my neighbor told me about this site so I could post a review, too. We love Wake Forest Elementary!

I can’t say enough positive about this school and the administration! The teachers and administration go out of their way to show they truly care about ALL kids. I am impressed with and thankful for the measures that administration is taking to keep children and families safe during the pandemic. WFE is a great school!

Awesome Staff! They are on top of it trying to provide safety to the students, staff, and community during this time. I'm so happy to have my kids at Wake Forest Elementary!

Awful staff, worst in wakeforest. Avoid this school and choose any other in town

Great school with caring staff for all types of learners. I have 2 kids, very different learners and both are thriving at all grade levels here. Smaller more family feel, great communication and motivation for success! I volunteer at the school weekly, mostly in the classroom, and I see first hand the student success that is happening here!

We've had a great experience at this school. Motivated and attentive teachers who really care about the kids. The new PE teacher is amazing! Very active PTA and lots of parent volunteers in the classrooms. Also, just to be clear, I'm at school almost every day and have NEVER seen ANY evidence of a roach "problem." The occasional bug? Yes, but come on, you can't avoid that!

I have to agree with the other parents, there are some good teachers and then are several that are unhappy....There is a DEFINITE ROACH PROBLEM!!! Something should really be done about it! There is great parent involvement however there needs to be a greater focus on providing a positive environment and leave the politics out of the classroom! We too will be looking for a different school!

I have had two children go through this elementary school and currently have children there. I have never seen roaches in this school. Yes there have been some dead bugs on the floor, but that is completely normal in any buildings. Have always had dedicated teachers. There is an active PTA and the new administration seems great!!!! My older two children had a great education and were WELL prepared for middle and high school. I love Wake Forest Elementary, it is a wonderful place to learn!

Too much burocracy put on teachers who are ( with the exception of a few) unable to dedicate enough time to truly teaching the students in their individual level. This produces frustrated teachers looking forward to summer vacation only. Too much screaming by staff at kids to be quiet in cafeteria each day. That has got to change! Not enough teachers assistants. PE teacher is unkind. New principal made some good changes, but too much inefficient paperwork. Too much staff-gossiping and not enough focus on meeting the needs of each individual student.

Love this school! My three children all attended all of their elementary school years hat WFE. The school continues to get better with the new principal. The staff is very professional and caring. Only complaint is the PE and music teachers. We have NEVER seen roaches at the school and are there nearly very day.

I am not happy with this school and will be withdrawing my children for a number of reasons. First, there is a problem with roaches. My children see roaches every day and althjough I have expressed concern, there is nothing being done about the problem. Second, although my children love sports, they are afraid to go to PE. The teacher does not create a comfortable learning environment. She is constantly screaming at the students and calls them "Rats". Last, the quality of teachers there varies quite a bit. Although my children have had some good teachers, there are many teachers who are openly not happy teaching and complain about all the work they have to do. There are many times when I have e-mailed a teacher and gotten no response. That being said, there is a strong PTA and many student events after school that are beneficial to the students. My kids also love the art teacher.

Negatives:`Unfortunately the school lost it's magnet program. Mean PE teacher. Lead in the building. Several teachers who don't really want to be there. Positives: Love the diverse student body. Art teacher is great.

I love this school! I already had one daughter go to it and my next will enroll in the fall. The staff are wonderful and very dedicated to the children. The PTA is very involved. My daughter thrived in this learning environment. All around, this is a great school and I highly recommend!
