More credible teachers should be hired. Some teachers are straight up rude. A teacher screaming at a parent from far away and the parent didn’t even know the teacher was referring to her in regards to her other toddlers not allowed to be on the playground 2 minutes before the bell rang (as they wait for her other kid to be picked up). Wow!!! That’s not how you speak to people lady/teacher…you have other kids surrounding you. What a role model.

The first year my daughter was supposed to go to this school in TK and then was overflowed to another school in concord. In grade K I switched her out of her class to another teacher because she came home and told me her teacher fell asleep while reading them a story. In first grade, her teacher told me she was doing great at reading and spelling. I never saw any homework come home or had any information about what was going on in the classroom. She came home more than once upset about being bullied and one time physically. The teacher said nothing even though on one occasion it happened in class. I have heard of this happening to other students as well. The teacher or staff not letting the parent know that their child had been hit by another student. By 2nd grade, I decided to homeschool. When tested for reading she was 1 year behind, along with math, and spelling was and still is very behind. We have homeschooled for 2 years and that's how long it has taken us to get her up to her grade level of 4th-grade reading and math. My advice to a parent who sends their kids here is to get your children outside help such as tutoring so they can really get the help they need. Don't be afraid to ask questions and be involved in your child's education.I really hope this school has improved since this time but the test scores can tell you just about everything you need to know.

Great School! My two kids go to this school since Kindergarten, so far no complain. They love their teacher, friends, class activities, outdoor activities etc. When I ask them how is your day at school, they seem to be having good time there. Happy kids, happy Mom!

Great New School in part of Mt. Diablo school district at New San Marco Community. Children can go to any middle school in Mt.Diablo district because middle school has not been built yet. Amazing teachers that motivate students to do well academically.

I have had a great experience so far. My son's teacher is great (Ms. Devries). She really eased my worries about being a first time parent to a Kindergartener. My son always comes home after having a good day and is always excited to go to school. The PTA seems very involved in doing various events. In just over a month there has a already been a bike rodeo and a family potluck.

We've been lucky and have had excellent teachers here. However, that is not enough to make me want to keep my child here. The school is militant in a way. Very strict. Lots of yelling. Academically focused with little reward for excellence. No school carnival. No Halloween parade. Holidays are not even mentioned. No Christmas performance. No birthday celebrated. No extra fun activities of any kind! These small things are so important as they give kids something to look forward to! My daughter who is top of her class beige wants to go to school. She didn't even color a snowman at CHRISTMAS. Never comes home with art projects of any kind. Office staff not friendly. Principle not friendly. Cafeteria boss mean as they come. Thank goodness for the janitor who always has a smile and a good morning ! This place will make you wonder if the staff even like kids. Also, no parent involvement because majority of parents English is there second language.

To the teacher that posted June'2013...sure wish there was more teachers there like you! I have 2 daughters that go there now..and it is just disturbing to me...when at a parent/teacher conference...you let her know your concerns and she lets you know "not to worry about her spelling..we have spell check for that"..WHAT!!! What kind of teacher in her right mind would say something like that..especially to a parent who is concerned with her child's learning!!..My oldest is now moving on to 6th grade...after her teacher let me know..even though she struggled through 5th grade..it's just a maturity thing..she will grow out of it! She darn well knows that my daughter learned almost NOTHING being in her class..and should be repeating 5th grade!!

As a former teacher, I was displaced here after being laid off from another school. I was more than happy to receive another job, and had nothing but optimism going in. However, that was diminished by the micro-managing prinicpal, rude and untrusting teachers, and dark mood of the whole campus. The students were constantly yelled at by teachers, who wanted their students to display respect towards them, yet didn't set a proper model. I tried to be uplifting and calm towards the students, but was told that was no good. To this day, I can't believe how rudely I was treated. It was as if they were out to get me the minute I stepped in. I am a great teacher, but they will never know that. The principle constantly barged into my room and belittled me in front of my students!! She was so worried about her test scores that she failed in forming proper relationships with teachers and students. In the end, I went to the district and complained about harassment from the principal. They didn't care and told me to go back to work. I refused, and am now in a great school, with a principal who supports and respects her teachers! 3/4 of us who were displaced there have left too.

i like this school. i moved from a diff school and noticed he learning a lot here and behaving.. i am glad i made the change. They are little strict but i believe kids do need that too. You can call them any time and make an appointment with principle to talk to.
