My daughter is going into 7th grade and her first year at EDMS was great! She had EXCELLENT teachers and the Principal and staff were so welcoming and supportive. It's middle school - which is literally the worst - but, overall my daughter made great friends, learned new things, and excelled! There were a couple of issue with other students, but admin was quick to help and make things better. I appreciated the time they took to listen and respond. It has to be hard, and they handled everything very well. We're glad we're at EDMS!

All of these reviews are old LOL. This school is very supportive, the staff here are so nice overall all the students are all different. Students do not define a middle school. The staff are always there for you if you need something. I’ve been going to El Dorado for two years and I really enjoy going here. I feel welcomed with more person of color. There are so much stereotypes about this school, you should try going to this school first before judging. Everything we learn is interesting and the teachers make the classes fun. The classes barely give students any homework which I like. I made a lot of friends here and I never felt so welcomed. If a student isn’t feel safe or wants to talk to someone, there is always someone on campus who is possible there for someone. This school gives out so much help for people dealing with mental illness I love it. Overall, this school is really fun and safe. Next time you make rumors about this school, please go to this school before you judge.

This school still struggles. My son is hanging in there because he grew up with the students who go there. Otherwise, I do have serious concerns about the quality of education he is receiving. I also really do not like when the kids are sick they receive only half credit for their make up work? It’s like being punished for being sick and that’s ridiculous. My son tells me all the time about fights and drugs on the campus and how the kids are out of control most of the time, but luckily he has no interest in any of that and minds his own business. He also tells me the teachers are stressed and not very friendly or patient with the children and his books he is given to use are vandalized with drawn in images of sexual acts and vulgar language and the teachers tell the students to deal just with it. The campus is very old and children are packed into classrooms that were more appropriate for a population in the 1960’s. For my son, El Dorado is not a stimulating or challenging learning environment for him and his friends, but a place they have to go to because they have no other choice. My son actually does have other choices but his choice is to stat at El Dorado for now. I am going to do what I can as a parent to support my sons education and his educators by being active on campus and volunteering. There is no longer a PFC or PTA due to lack of parent interest, and that is okay. Those clubs are very time consuming when you just want to help out in your own way. Parent volunteers are always needed and appreciated and it requires getting a tb shot, and a background check done and that costs about $70 and takes about 30 days. I do think this school has tons of HEART, but it needs support too. We will give it another shot and hope for the best! These children and every staff member at El Dorado deserve to feel safe and excited about their school and work place. Parents are the key to turning things around here and have the opportunity to model to their children how to respect themselves and their educators. When parents do not care, neither will the children, then neither will the staff without parental support. Those are my opinions and whatever flaws El Dorado has, there is heart and energy behind it and I believe this school can turn things around. My daughter also attended El Dorado several years ago. According to her not much has changed or improved.

This school has made a lot of positive and proactive changes for the better. I'm happy with their new direction. Many of the reviews are old and don't apply anymore.

This school is terrible. My 6th grade son is being bullied physically, even in the classrooms with teachers present. The administration is not supportive or helpful. This year has been so bad, and the kids are sooooo bad, we are unenrolling our son before the school year is over. I am afraid he may not even be at grade level, never mind the non-stop bullying. Don't send your kids here!!!!!

My daughter went to El Dorado, had great experience and build her goals stronger thanks to all her teachers that really cares and believes how far you can go if you really spread your Wings and follow your dreams.

This school was great. Yes it has problems but thoughs problems have helped me and fellow students with real life problems so yea it might look bad but after you have been there for a year or two you will understand how truly great this school is

This school needs major improvement. The staff is rude, inconsiderate, and irresponsible. The teachers try their best with the resources they have. Some of the kids are bullies and have no regard for fellow students feelings, but we can blame their parents for that.

EL Dorado, may not have the best academics, but we have teachers who try their best with the budget they are given. In my opinion, by how the teachers work extra hard, it makes up for other things we may be lacking. Yes, there are some fights, and maybe not everyone obeys the dress code, but those are just the negatives which we are working on! There are so many positive things about EL Dorado as well! The Leadership class works so hard with anti-bullying weeks, and drug free activities. Yearbook makes the best yearbook ever even if it's a little pricey. Just this year our CJSF president won the Marian Huhn award, which is a huge deal! CJSF also raises money for all types of charities. Not to mention all the fantastic diversity of the school which is not seen in many others. So maybe if people stopped looking at the negatives, they would see what a great school EL Dorado is.

Very confusing. The teachers are all absolutely great. It's the students that won't cooperate. I would know because I am a student. The kids cuss, fight, and don't follow the dress code. Not the teachers. Peer pressure is a biggie at this school. Bullying is also a minor issue. The leadership class is awesome. Just work on the bullying and helping the kids be friendlier. People rate schools on appearances too, so work on redoing some stuff like the bathrooms, pod, etc.

My niece goes to El Dorado and the teachers are great. Willing to help whenever she needs help. Email a teacher about a concern you get the reply right away if the school is open and are willing to talk with you.

This school is terrible there are students that need help and they see them and they don't help them also there are students because they are on the football team they don't get in trouble and are allowed to do anything also the teachers teach way to fast expecting you to learn an entire lesson and get it the first time around they give you way to much homework and the library is only open once evey week and the lunch they serve you is terrible and not healthy at all

At El Dorado Middle School the "inmates run the asylum" as in the 12 years old bullies and future gang members have free reign and while Mr. Humphrey is a nice guy you can't be friends with the kids. I am sure the kids think it's great that the staff would rather act like 12 year olds themselves but one day when these kids are sitting in jail I am sure they will wish they had gotten better leadership in their formative years.
