My daughter transferred from 2 different schools 2022. It was hard due to moving a lot. I'm impressed how much the teachers and stuff members made my daughter feel welcome to the school and that's very important for me and our family the kids are very friendly, my daughter adjusted very well, I'm glad we were assigned by our address to this school and the teachers are very professional and so far she's not overwhelmed with crazy homework. Nit like during the pandamic when she was at Ygnacio Valley elementary.

I am a grandmother who lives out of town, so I appreciate the use of Class Dojo to keep me informed of my grandson's activities. I've been welcomed by his K and first grade teachers, but have not yet met his new second grade teacher. The school is clean and is enhanced by the vegetable garden and presence of animals, such as chickens. School drop-off and pick-up goes fairly smoothly and safely.

Great reputation for individualized approach which helps all students including some that would be ignored and doomed to failure at other schools.

My grandchildren just recently started at El Monte Elementary School. On the first day the principal gave us a personal tour and showed us the beautiful clean campus with the chickens and the gardens. It is obvious that the staff cares about this school and the environment. She explained the schoolwide instruction and social skills curriculum. She took the time to introduce us to the new teachers and the office staff. On our tour the other students were quietly walking in the hallways and looked happy. Mrs. Bowman the principal knew their names-the kids looked thrilled about the attention. The library is beautiful and full of new books and they have a new computer lab also. The counselor (who is full time) introduced herself as a resource. Wow. When the kids came home from their first day they were excited about their classrooms and their new friends. The principal even called me the next week just to check in on how the kids are doing-now thats customer service. A great school starts with a great leader. We are so happy to be at this school!

El Monte has a very caring and capable staff who work together across classrooms to being the whole school to its highest potential. They've raised test scores every year for the last four or five years in a row, some years making huge leaps in progress. Their after school program is excellent, with opportunities for enrichment in creative and performing arts as well as in sports. They're doing great work all around!

This is going on my 3rd year at El Monte. We recently moved . I was informed that my daughter will have to attend Wren Ave Elem this fall. This is also a great school, teachers, staff, etc. but ... I am bias to EL MONTE ELEM in Concord, Ca. I appreciate the tenacity of principal Christina Boman. She is diligent in getting extra funds for the school & she has been running since her return from #2 maternity leave Feb 1. I am impressed by the way she handles the diversity of families with care regardless they speak little or no english. She is friendly, professional, and believes her kids will thrive & succeed in the future! On top of that, she is out on the circle daily to handle the "traffic control". This is something most sites can learn from to make it easier for parents to drop off/pickup kids. THANK YOU!!!

El Monte is such a great school. There are wonderful teachers, involved families, and energetic insightful students. We have an active after school program (CARES) that provides structured after school enrichment and homework help. Our little school promotes community involvement and service learning as well as helps students gain an understanding of the environment and the food cycle. From our garden, to our chickens, to our compost center, our students learn about where food comes from. Our school offers many opportunities for students to explore their creativity through performance art (Karaoke club, after school plays and musicals, and our Glee Club is practically famous). El Monte is the best elementary school I know.

This is my second year at El Monte. I have worked in several school districts and schools in the area, and I have been so impressed with the organization and dedication of all the staff members here. This place is a well oiled machine! Everyone on site works collaboratively with each other to ensure our students receive a wonderful education, not just in academics, but also in how to treat others and develop personal responsibility. I am happy to be back again this year, and look forward to another great school year. Go Bulldogs!

This is my 9th year of teaching at El Monte, and every year has been a true pleasure. The El Monte community includes a wonderful team of teachers, administrators, office staff, and maintenance staff, all of whom appreciate each other, get along well together, and support the children as individuals as well as students. There are opportunities for students to experience extracurricular activities (glee club, creative writing, etc.) either before or after school, and occassionally extra school-wide events take place (Olympic Games, science assemblies, etc.). El Monte has made steady growth in it's academic measurement tools (API), and above all, El Monte is a safe place to send children to school.

I will have had kids at El Monte since 2010 and love this school! My daughter has loved her teachers and is so excited to begin a new year. The teachers truly care about the students and go above and beyond. The teachers have fostered a great love of learning in my kids. Mrs. Boman is a wonderful principal who has gone out and found additional funds to improve El Monte. She is very dedicated to the students, parents and teachers, and it shows. All my encounters with the staff have been good too. They are all very helpful and considerate.

This is a great little school with an excellent Principal. We have gardens and animals making it a lively setting. We have great office staff and lovely teachers, and custodians. Overall this is a great school. The PTA is very supportive of the teachers and the students. We even have a local church that supports the teachers. I would recommend this school.

When children are engaged, amazing learning can happen! It starts with a solid leader such as Mrs. Boman. Her energy and vision have helped raise the STAR test scores of our students over 125 points in the last five years. The teachers at El Monte are continually honing their skills to make sure students are learning at their peak. The support staff work diligently to keep the office running smoothly, the campus looking great, and feed the hungry little people! The PTA works tirelesly to raise funds for field trips and classroom supplies. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and the teamwork exemplified at El Monte Elementary is an example of how to do it right. Come visit our chicken coop, bunny hutch, snake habitat and extensive veggie and fruit gardens. You'll want your child to attend our vibrant, energetic, nuturing school. El Monte Bulldogs rock!

El Monte is excelling in every areas- Academics, Arts, Music, After School programs, Community, Internet based training etc... I am very encouraged with El Monte's progress on many fronts- the school may be pulled down by demographic difficulties such as English learners but they have every tool possible to excel. I agree with the principal's assessment bellow.

As the Principal of El Monte Elementary I would like to congratulate our students, staff and community on the phenomenal growth on not only our test scores these last four years (114 points!), but also for surpassing the 800 mark set by the State! We are now the highest school in our CHS feeder pattern due to our hard work and dedication. The after school CARES program and other in school interventions help all of our students reach their potential. Our students are safe, respectful and responsible. Our teachers care about students and strive to make learning accessible to all students and push them to think creatively. Finally our PTA is the largest we have had in many years and very supportive of our campus! Bulldogs do ROCK the STAR! We hope you will come and visit our beautiful campus.

For the second year in a row El Monte has made their academic state goals as set by the state of CA and are on their way to meeting their goal of 800 API. The new uniforms look amazing-students are here to learn. I am proud to have my daughter attend El Monte in third grade and am glad the one old teacher was encouraged to retire and two new teachers were hired. Also the new PTA board seems energetic and ready to try some new things. This is a place you will be happy to send your child.

because of the parent and teacher involvement. The teachers there go above and beyond to make the school like a home environment, the practice positve, role modleling behaviors, always look for the postivie attributes in the kids and are constantly proising their personal and academic achievemtns. The teachers on thier own continue to educate themselves bringing in new and inovative teaching techniques to the school. The principle is supportive of tne teachers thier efforts and of the parents and children. The sees a need and will work until any deficit we have is met, wether fundraising, grants, involoving parents and kids to do a volunteer day accomplish a school goal or project. It brings everyone together to create a community which is what holds and supports a school.
