There isn’t any flexibility at all. Trying to withdraw a child is a nightmare. You cannot contact the school at all. Their office is open 9am -12pm and 0 people answer the phone and voicemail box is always full.

They used to have a top notch special education program but this year 2023 they epic-ly failed completely to meet any special standards by treating these awesome special children like "normal" kids. My girl was so lost and the curriculum was grade based rather then based on what the child could do or understand. I feel like they are trying to weed out the special needs kids.

We switched from regular public school to azva 4 years ago. My daughter has an iep that wasn't being followed as well as her being bullied daily. This school beats expectations 100%. My child is thriving.

I wouldn't recommend AZVA to any family whose Student has an IEP or is on the Autism Spectrum...This school does not have the best interest of those with special needs nor do they care about the academic success of these students...Our experience over the last 2 years has been nothing but a continual battle to get extra support through resource...They repeatedly denied our requests stating our student did not need it nor was there proof he needed additional support....Our student had all failing grades....yet did not qualify...Think about that....It makes no sense...Last year...his freshman year he earned 1 credit for the entire year towards his diploma...yet they maintained he did not need extra help...There is absolutely NO excuse for how they treated him...He like every student on the autism spectrum and with special needs deserves the best education possible!...My advice is ....do not place your student with this school if they have special needs of any kind...I cannot express to you the emotional damage this caused our student...He is very high functioning....but has memory issues and difficulties in processing imformation ...This means it may take him longer to learn ...This school refused to take this into consideration...Our student was left feeling frustrated and felt they did not care...When he feels this way...he shuts down...After a long 9 month wait we are grateful he was accepted at an Autism Academy where his needs will be met and they care about him and his future success....It's not just a paycheck to them!He will now be starting over his entire freshman year in what should have been his sophomore year...This way he can earn those credits he should have been taught last year at AZVA...If you are considering this school for your student...do your research...I wish we had...Looking forward to an amazing school year this year with teachers and academic leaders who truly care about their students...including those students on the autism spectrum and with special needs....Change needs to happen....and now!! Thankyou

The teachers and staff are so kind and friendly, but it is a mess over there! They are supposed to send things, they get lost, students are supposed to have accomodations and modifications, but teachers don't have access to that information and are clueless! You can't get ahold of anyone except for the teachers and they seem ridiculously overburdened. Now I hear they fired a bunch of people over the summer and aren't replacing them! Glad my kids out

10 ot of 10. AZVA is wonderful! I was a teacher for 20+ years in traditional brick and mortar schools. I retired early to be home with my daughter so that she could attend AZVA high school that should tell you something.

Awful school!!! I wouldnt recommend this school to my worst enemy! No child deserves to be discriminated against!

Overall, I had a better experience in my grade school when it comes to communication between parent and school, as well as equal receptors for working together. Schools in Tucson don't like parents, or working with parents it's my feeling.

My three older kids graduated from AZVA and got accepted into their college of choice with scholarships (full rides for two of them). My youngest two are athletes and AZVA helped them succeed in their education as well as excelling in their sports.

Horrible experience at this school. My child was locked out of the classes 2 months before school ended for no valid reason. The bogus reason given to us was because of not logging in regularly. Although, my child attended the required classes each day. I left several messages and emails for the Principal and the assistant principal. I never received any response from anyone. My child has a disability but worked very hard to be successful. I would never recommend this school to anyone. Please dont waste your time and effort.

Terrible, they locked my son out of his classes 2 months into the school year because my wife wouldn’t bring him down town to their office for an evaluation.

It`s a cruel and unusual punishment. I didn`t even want to to be here. Good thing this is my last semester is this torturous exuse of a school.

It was good up until this year, the flexibility is gone. Teachers will insist on calling you on the phone to bully students. They will give you Fs if you try to confront them on their teachers bully the students. Mandatory attendance for all class at all time, will punish and give bad grade for being late. All mid terms and tests are due for all subjects on the same day in preparation for high school. You will be doing homework everyday for 6-12 hours a day but can not record the real amount of time you put in. Your log of time is mandatory or will be count as missed days. What was once good before is altered to a user unfriendly platform with useless buttons to get you lost in their system.

I've been using K12 since my son was on kinder garden and this experience has been beyond great, teachers are excellent, the curriculum is just great, you have the flexibility to do it at your own time and pace.

We have been using AZVA for over 9 years and we Love the school, sure there are bumps here and there but NOT any more than any your typical Block and Mortar. We have used AZVA, Connections Academy and of course our local Block and Mortar, out of the three we like AZVA the best by far... But we all have our own experiences, so with that being said I have gave our great AZVA 4 stars out of 5. I gave only 4 stars just incase there ever is a better school that pops up or if the other schools I listed improve.

Enrollment paperwork gets messed up usually, so you don't know if your kid will start the first day of school. Subject matter is harder than a brick n mortar school. High school is ridiculous. Help is scarce. No one helps you prepare for college like they say they will. One teacher was a constant burden. I pulled my kids to try another online in Chandler. They won't release my kid's report cards. There withdrawal papers are signed by both parties. We have to wait another two weeks. That's that the Principal doing this. Just showing how they care about the kids. None of the teachers wished my kids good luck. They were good kids. Don't waste your time on AZVA!

Did an immense amount of assignments , online course work, work samples, etc. while enrolled with AZVA and always felt like we were needing to do more to 'keep pace'. When we first started with AZVA it went ok but as we continued with the school our kids grades started to drop and frustration increased. As we spoke with other parents enrolled with AZVA they also felt like it was constant in regards to 'keeping up' with the assignments. Like there was never a moment to not think about AZVA. A few teachers were nice but it wasn't unusual for the kids to have a teacher leave and then start with another one during the course of the year. We have a homeschool group that we get together with and we are the only ones enrolled in AZVA and everyone else in that group enjoys their other school programs and curriculums they use, but I've never been able to say to them that I really like AZVA. We will not be re-enrolling in AZVA for the next school year.
