As a parent whose child originally went to this school before switching, I would not recommend this school for your kid(s). Two of my sons are complaining about a lack of sleep, which does not help with the fact that we live far from this school. I have also been shared "school fights" videos from students in the school. I made my kids attend a different school for safety reasons. I tried reaching out to the school principal 3 times about "school fights", and got no real information. If you are planning on having your kids attend this school, please be aware of fights and a lack of support. These teachers need to do better. If you do have kids attending this school, I would highly recommend switching schools. There is just very little guidance for parents and most students do not know what is going on most of the time. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

The staff does not communicate at all with each other. They should really find out all details before talking to parents. Or when they say they are going to do something actually do it.

Sierra Middle School in Parker is a very poor school to send your child to. The special ed. teacher needs to retire. She is rude and very disrespectful and because she is mad at a parent because the teacher got reprimanded she makes sure to take it out on the special needs child. The district needs to take the time to start cleaning house over there and get rid of teachers like the special ed. teacher among others at this school. When there is a problem at this school they ignore it because that’s the easy way out!! They don’t care about the kids! I hope someone from the district starts reading some of these reviews and starts doing something about this school that doesn’t care about the kids!

God forbid you get bullied here, because the teachers just straight up do nothing. Another thing is that they push the advanced students too much and too little at the same time. Both levels get the same amount of work, just one is slightly harder. Like for what? Also students throw around slurs and derogatory terms to each other and teachers do nothing. They don't do anything when you get called a snitch for reporting it either. Finally the team system. It's awful and pointless. It's only supposed to separate classes, surely it isn't competitive right? WRONG. The competition, Eagle Scream is also rigged and unenjoyable. About ready to switch schools.

Very disappointed in this school. Teachers are unqualified especially this year. The suspensions are crazy this year, students have been getting suspended left and right and it makes me sad to see so many kids getting mistreated by admin. I think that some of the people working in the office are wonderful but some not too much. Admin staff has gotten in children’s faces and completely targeted them. The bullying reports that students make are taken very lightly and usually have nothing done about them. Test scores are lowering and advanced classes have nothing advanced about them. They are putting kids in advanced classes that have shown no growth in the previous year. The kids in the advanced classes are not meant to be in the classes. Sierra Middle School hires teachers that almost show no experience whatsoever and many teachers are not speaking to kids in a professional way. I’m not going to go into too much detail but if a school is going to hire teachers then atleast know that they will perform their job professionally. Like I said before this school could be awesome at certain points but more than not it wasn’t for my child.

SMS is a great school! It is important to keep in mind the challenges that typically face middle schoolers are still present; however, the staff is committed to the students and to creating an inclusive environment. From the staff directly in the classroom to the counseling department, they offer opportunities for all students to be involved and take part in their education. As a parent in the community for the past 15 years I am proud of how SMS has tackled the challenges of our district and of the times, specifically COVID.

This school is getting out of hand. Like other parents and students are saying is true. There is a lot of bullying and the teachers don't do anything about it.

I liked some of the people there but there's a lot of bullying and most teachers do nothing about it. We are constantly being taught the same things, causing us to be behind and not learn some things that we need to. We are also being taught things that we learned last year the same way and as if we don't know it. There's also a lot of rudeness to teachers especially subs and when there's only 1 person that was rude, I think it's really unfair to make an entire class sit in your room for lunch detention because of the one person. I'm definitely glad my cousin is going to homeschool till she gets to 9th grade to go to chap.

The lack of academically motivated students is appalling. This is a bare minimum school with the basic students to match. The building is falling to pieces and the students are passed on with grades they shouldn’t earn. Advanced classes are a joke! The students are NOT advanced in any way. Test scores to show it.

I love the environment and the staff. The teachers really care and the children are given every opportunity to succeed, if they want to.

We recently moved to Colorado and my son just started at this school. I am so pleased with our decision to come here. He says it is the best school he has ever been to and the teachers in his words "awesome". That says a lot as he usually dislikes school and I have switched him to a number of places before. There was an issue with one of the teachers and when I told the counselor about it she immediately addressed it and put my son in another class.
