My grandkids have attended 3 years and came with in with some struggles but I’ve found every teacher and staff go above and beyond to help there students it’s teamwork not up to the teacher’s to teach kids how to respect other’s that my job . So with that being said I love this school and would highly recommend it if you as a parent are willing to work hand in hand and I’m an Hispanic parent and have always been treated equally which I was thankful for because I would not be pleased . But I’ve been blessed with the office staff teacher’s are amazing .

Like many (public) schools in Southern California, this school suffers from "Ivory Tower Syndrome" (Google it). The faculty only cares about their paycheck and benefits because their leadership only focuses on moving up in their ranks instead of supporting their Direct Reports (actually doing their jobs). They can get away with it because their bureaucracy protects them (and frankly, supports it). The kids get left in the dust, receive a poor education, and develop life long behavioral issues. They teach for test scores, not for life learning. If you really love your kids, sacrifice 5-7K a year to put your child into a private school. The private schools are not perfect either, but they offer a M-U-C-H better environment.

By far the worst school my child has ever attended.

Not a great experience at this school.

I have found the teachers to be very helpful in most situations. My children received great educations, although there seems to be more and more disruptive students at the school. Overall, a great school.

The teacher my son had seems like a nice lady but is either overwhelmed of just doesn't have the drive anymore. There is too much negative reinforcement rather than giving the kids positive reinforcement. My son came home most of the school year feeling defeated. He basically had nothing to look forward to after being told he's bad more often than not. When I would sit to do his homework with him one night he wasn't getting something and I asked him why he didn't get it and he said to me, "Because I'm a bad boy". I had never told him that before so I asked who said that and he told me the people at school tell him that (aides and staff). I can't believe school staff would say such a thing to a child. We should be building our children up and not beating them down especially at such an impressionable age. Breaks my heart. I know we are getting a new principle this coming year and hoping things will be better. This school also is not very good in communicating with parents either. I paid a substantial amount to the PTA and never was contacted once for meetings or info. related to the school/students. With the exception of Mrs. Tyson and Mrs. Phoenix in the office, no one knows anything. Mrs. Margarita, if she even acknowledges you, will just look at you dumbfounded for every question asked of her. This use to be the better elementary school on the westside but if this next year isn't any better I will be looking into private or alternative choices.

My 1st grader was welcomes to the school nicely by his teacher and classmates including the office staff :)! My son came from a private school and so far Rancho vista is a great school for public school. I think :)! I love the way teacher has everything organized and the environment. My son seems to be much happier at Rancho vista :)!

I am so disappointed with this school and the staff. They just don't care, It's just a job. I am blessed with a very independent student that gets good grades but what about the students that are struggling?? They're just left to fend for themselves. There is no extra curricular activities no choir, art, nothing! It supposed to be the best school in the westside area... scary i can not imagine what other schools are like. It's so sad, these children are our future and they feel like they don't matter. They don't have anything to loose, no ambition , nothing to look forward to, they just don't care just like the staff. There is a lot of behavior problems at this school, disrespectful children, drinking alcohol on the lawn?!! I am appalled, we pay more to live on the westside and to have better schools and I am not sure where the money is going, there are ZERO programs offered.

My daughter attended Rancho Vista Elementary and she was getting sick a lot. I volunteer in her class and I notice the teacher had a treat jar to reward the kids. The issue was that she allows the kids to help themselves to the treats. Being that is a K class you can imagine how many germs the kids have in their hands. There for my child miss school a lot. We move from Palmdale to Lancaster. I told Morreale about our family situation. I asked if my daughter could continue attending Rancho Vista being that there was only 4 months left. He told me that he would not allow her to stay because of the # of absences that she had (Most of her absences had a Dr s note). I told him that with all the changes and issue that we had that year removing her in the middle of the school year will only make it harder for her. He told me again no and I quote If I allowed her to stay I will not guarantee for her to pass to the next grade. Even if she is doing good in class and keeping up with her homework . He told us that we had 2 days to get out of the school and enroll in the LS district. Luckily my daughter is very smart and she is doing great in the new school and her teacher is AMAZING

The staff is very concern with student achievement and offer help for students who are ELL. Keep up the good work. Parent portal helps to keep track of students progress.

Plenty of communication with respect to fund raising events. Communication is considerably less free-flowing to parent's pertaining to needs, performance or helpful insight to compliment your child's development. Concur with previous posting of poor bedside manner of the staff. Remain hopeful for the school and staff to improve as they progress through developmental learning stages.

My Children have been attending this school now for 1 1/2years. Previously my 9r old was homeschooled because he would become overwhelmed and anxious in crowded rooms at a different school in Lancaster. When I registered him at Rancho Vista the principle and the 3rd grade teacher met with me to come up with a plan to make him comfortable. I was extremely happy with the care they had for my child. He now loves school, loves to read, enjoys his teacher, and brings home great grades. I receive weekly phone calls and emails with updates of school events or news. My 1st grader is a jumping bean but his teacher has been patient with his behavior, and he brings home straight A's. All in all I have been very happy with this school.
