This is the worst school my child has been to in Palmdale. The principal’s don’t do anything to protect your child. If your child is getting bullied, harassed, or being called a racial name and your child defends themselves your child will receive a detention and not the other student. There is constant bullying threats and the school is not doing anything about it. I have tried to move my child from Hillview but all the schools in the Westside district is full. As soon as any school is open I’m checking my child out. The teachers are amazing but the principals and the environment is not.

I am a current student at Hillview and it’s not bad. But it’s also not good. I can tell you that the principal Mr Weber is very good. Same with Ms standford, Mr Boggs, Ms McMillan, and Ms Soto. They are willing to help you with the anything. This middle school is like any other middle school but the teachers really take their time to teach their students and don’t just teach to they can get their paycheck. They really care about their students.

Worst middle school to go to.Students use foul language , physical fights are common, too many disruptions in the classroom by some students who come to school just for passing their time. They just get a detention and they're happy to get it.The administration failed to take any action against them.

Schedule is Periods1,3,5,7 are on odd days of week and 2,4,6,8 on even. Difficult to keep track. 05/13/2014 got a letter of truancy for dates as far back as 11/07/2013 stating my child has 3 days unexcused absences and 1 tardy which I wrote him a note on all occasions. My son said he gave the notes to the Advisory teacher and she just looked at them and said ok. This is a serious accusation due to lack of responsibility by authority figures. I think 1 unexcused absence would warrant a call from school. Have had 1 Parent/Teacher conference day (AKA-back to school night) all teachers sat on the perimeter of gym while parents stood in line to talk with teacher, if we got to talk to them before they left. Seems like fund raising.is main priority. Today my son said the teacher put them in groups, instructed them to each write a summary, when they were done, work as a group to finish project. My son finished and started to read a book waiting for rest of team to finish. Teacher told him no reading and took book. At end of class he asked for it back, she said that was disrespectful next time she will keep it. HA don't think so. At least he was being productive instead of disruptive.

Hillview is a great school by all means. Excellent teachers, some are positively very strict, which I'm very happy with, taking the extra step to push their students to excel. Very cooperative and understanding staff and administration, pleasant to deal with. My oldest son is graduating in June and my middle son is joing Hillview in August, so our constructive relation will continue. WAY TO GO HILLVIEW. KEEP IT UP.

My Son is attending and will be graduating in June. It has been a great and challenging experience for him. I am extremely impressed with the teaching and curriculum that Hillview Middle School offers. It has great teachers and a great staff and principal and vice-principal. I am looking forward in sending my daughter in the future.
