I've had nothing but issues with their dismissal. Has to be the worst organization I've ever experienced, it's a complete joke. Kids wander off daily, and their excuse, "we just have so many children to release". Direct from a teacher I complained to. I told her my son had been walking to the other side of the school for 2 weeks because that's where I park. "It's the first time I catch it", so for 2 weeks he went unnoticed. 2Nd grade kid, smh, I've never complained about a school so much as I have with this one. Very disappointed, and my youngest just started kindergarten, already considering taking both to another school. With every issue I've had and complained to someone I've gotten no valid excuse, only apologies. I want the issue corrected, I'm tired of apologies. Other than their dismissal disasters,I guess they have somewhat of a bully problem. Both my sons have complained about other classmates pushing them or grabbing them. What is the point of raising my sons right and being respectful if they're going to be disrespected themselves? There's only so many times they can tell the teacher before I have to tell them to defend themselves, which is exactly what I've been telling them to do.It has been the worst school my boys have ever attended.

Valley View has many good points and some great teachers who are truly concerned for your children and their overall sucess like Mrs. Stoltenburg and Mrs. Smyles. However, the bad out weighs the good in this case. Especially the upper grade teachers who are ego driven and are counter productive by distancing parents and making enemies out of their bread and butter. They are always right and quick to tell you how awful your kids are, but no solutions. It comes down to this: some teachers love kids and some teachers love jobs. Avoid this school, it's mostly miserable people making children miserable. Most of us are under the impression that only children are bullies, but some of the worst bullies are teachers.

If this is the standard for what is a good school, I question what is being accepted as adequate for the educational system in this area. Aids who have the responsibility of keeping an eye on the students require courses in controlling their own behavior and the principal should not be permitted to feign ignorance in issues that are brought to his attention numerous times throughout the school year by various parents. There is a lack of any accountability and staff members pass the blame on to one another, while the actual problems of discipline and conduct go unattended. I challenge any parent of a child at this school to see for themselves what is actually going on after they drop them off. Be proactive and spend time with them in the lunchroom, in the classrooms, TRY getting in to see the principal, TRY and see if they return messages, and see exactly what the children are learning is appropriate attitudes from the ones who are supposed to be role models. For those fortunate to receive any school imput, compare that to a higher ranking school as decide for yourself if you are willing to give your child Valley View's mediocre learning experience.

My son has attended Valley View for the last 2 years. His teachers have been great & his attitude toward learning has greatly improved. The teachers and staff are all very friendly and helpful.

This use to be one of the best schools in the area now it is one of the worst, The principal is never available, on the rare occasion he is there, he is not involved with any of the students or what is going on. Most of the kids have never seen him and dont even know who he is. The only thing I have seen him do is come to the defense of his teachers and staff when an angry parent has had enough. That leaves the vice principal in charge of much everything at the school and she is very rude and dishonest. This school cares more about there reputation then it does of the safety and well being of there students. They will not acknowledge serious behavior issues of there students and they have no backbone when it comes to enforcing behavior policies. The teachers are worse.
