As a student with an IEP, I felt completely disregarded. They didn’t follow through with the accommodations that were asked for. They never listened to my parents and I when we asked questions or needed help. When we finally made the decision to homeschool, they refused to give us the documents needed for the new school until we told them that it was illegal for them to not give them. When we went into the office, they treated us like we were trash. I am so glad that I will never have to step foot into that environment again. I would never wish this upon anyone. They put us through too much. I was a freshman at the time and at that point for anyone in life, you’re still figuring yourself out. It’s really hard to do that when you have people treating you awfully. If you want your kid(s) to have a horrible relationship with their school/teachers, go ahead and send them to OHS. They’re great at making you feel worthless and like you don’t belong. They don’t do their jobs, not even the bare minimum. The education part of it was ok. I will say that they do have a good quality way of teaching, for regular students. The students who have learning disabilities or special needs like I do, not so much. They don’t know how to handle things like that unless they’re specifically trained for it (which they aren’t). I will also say that most people in the real world also don’t know how to handle them so I can’t say too much.My case manager from freshman year was decent for the first semester. There was a point during the end of first semester that we didn’t get along, so my mother had requested a new case manager for me. The case manager had and outburst towards me once she found out. She yelled at me, told me she was done helping me, and slammed the door. At this point I was in tears. She came back in the room about 15 minutes later, while she still had a class to teach. She apologized but she meant what she said. For the rest of that semester and the next she no longer “cared”, as if she did to begin with. I received no help or care with my IEP anymore. My mother went around the school through the doctor and requested homebound services. What I’m getting at here, is just don’t send your kids here. There are plenty of great schools around the Ozark area that are much better.

Our son has attended Ozark schools from 2nd grade on through 10th grade so far. The special education teachers are incredible! They truly work hard to make sure all our sons needs are met.

A little piece of me died everyday when I walked through those doors. I will never go back there for anything. They are a joke who never actually cared about the kids there. Their greed poked out anytime there was an issues, whether it was a weather advisory or a kid getting injured. Never let your child go to this school unless they want to hate themselves everyday.

We love Ozark Schools. Our student has been in them from sixth grade on. He is now a Junior. There are only a few things I would like to see changed though with all of the fantastic things this school district does very well, it's a great place for a student to be.

I'm a former student while the Students are nice I went here from 2nd to 12th grade. School special education department is terrible the special education teachers talk down to you and say you can't be anything. The school does not care about any students accept those who play sports. And does not give the resources to other departments.

On the front line of education for the 21st Century. Great Community Feeling. Great Staff.

Ozark schools are a great feature of our community. The teacher and parent involvement is second to none. Students have excelled at this school and are happy there. I'd recommend it to any parent and hope students continue to have this type of experience throughout their schooling. Fantastic school! Great teachers who truly are concerned with students future. My kids went to Ozark South and Ozark West, both are great! We had to move for our job and went to a 'big city' school that is suppose to be the 'best', not compared to Ozark! The teachers and staff at Ozark do everything to make sure your child gets what they need. My son has an IEP and received the BEST help at Ozark, was growing by leaps and bounds, even had a one on one reading tutor every morning before school. (Mrs. Dugger is the BEST) He gets help in the new school 'when ever someone has time to see him'. You will love the school, the teachers LOVE the kids, they really want them to succeed, and my kids did wonderful because of the quality of education they were receiving

This is our first year here and my kids love Ozark. I have one in 9th and another in 2nd grade. I don't know Columbia schools but I do know the area, but its lacks the small town feel that Ozark has that I've always wanted. Ozark is a very nice community and has that small town feel to it but has great large 5-A school.
