OHS employs some really great teachers who truly care about their students. They implement a whole-person approach to addressing problems that the students might be having at school, and have a great team in the counseling office to help students deal with socioemotional as well as academic issues. The curriculum includes a long list of Honors, AP, and dual credit courses, as well as a huge variety of extracurricular activities, and does a thorough job preparing students for continuing education. I am particularly happy that they also offer practical courses in life skills and math for everyday living, and through their partnership with BOCES they offer a great alternative to students who are not college-bound to learn the skills that they need to jump into their adult lives after graduation. My children have had a great experience at this school compared to other school districts that we have lived in.

After being in this school I can attest that this school is incredibly mediocre, arguably unsafe, and (in my experience) pretty uncaring to individual students. All this being said, it is at least better than Fulton high school

There is not a single positive characteristic of the school. Compared to other schools, it is a joke.

I've been a community member for many years and have various neighbors with children who have successfully completed graduation requirements in this school district. I rarely hear negative comments from them. Of course there will be a few bad apples but many of the teachers, counselors, and administrators are working hard to make sure our younger citizens are well-taught individuals. I'm proud to call this area my home.

We moved away from here after only one year so our daughter wouldn't feel the embarrassment to have to call Oswego High School her Alma Mater. Many of the teachers would be classified as "ineffectiver" if they were teaching outside of Oswego. The social studies and math departments were a joke. One would think that phys ed teachers should set the example, but the two female phys ed teachers were very overweight and lazy. The stats show a poor performing school in a poor performing school district in an economically distressed town. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.
