There's not a lot of negative things to say. It has a good athletic department and good at choosing what kids need what. The teachers are good as long as your a good student and behave.

In a word? Revolting. They had to shut down the boy's bathroom because of an overflow. It only takes one person to ruin everyone else's day. One kid screws up? All are punished. One kid makes a mess? All are blamed. Sounds alot like Boot Camp. Sorry to bash it so much, but it's ridiculous. All the kids talk about "worst ways to die" and they always seem to use the word "poop" in every sentence. Sorry but Hannibal does NOT deserve to be on Great Schools.

I am a former student. I have known many professionals at this school and have encountered both good and bad. True, there are some teachers who have given up on the true passion of teaching but that is true of many schools around the area. There are some teachers here who give everything they can to invest and better their students. I can name students who have gone back to these teachers year after year and said how much they missed them and even had their younger brother's and sister's request these individuals. Most of the bad rap of these teachers comes from low government funding and/or families who are broken and unwilling to give their children the support needed to succeed. New government standards have further increased teacher stress since the curriculum these teachers are forced to provide are not even completed by Albany! This curriculum was not taught to these long standing professionals and they are simply teaching blind to the best of their ability. There are faults within the school system but most comes from higher up. If you want a fair and accurate report, set up an interview with these teachers. Communicate your concerns and ask questions!

I wouldn't even give it a star. They will hire anyone of the streets, and they barely do back ground checks. The teachers are too busey "socializing" too teach. Oh wait....hannibal has been on the governors watch list for years. Dumpy school and gross atmosphere.

Kenney Middle School has caring parents and staff that are always looking for ways to keep kids geared at education. The community has undergone many struggles over the past couple of years, but with encouragement from the staff and parents, the students in this school have learned to pull together, support each other regardless if they have music, sports, art and other activities. They stick together like family. I'm very proud of the students who attend Hannibal Kenny Middle School They too should be proud of themselves as they have achieved and over came the disappointments that finances in the District have impacted their school over the past few years. Thank you all for being so strong. Children should be allowed to be kids, not be expected to be so strong, but these kids have been!
