Wonderfully talented and dedicated staff. The only drawback are the hours school is in session. (Although that's a district decision.) We have the longest school day in the county. Also, there is no after school Latchkey program on site; students are bussed to another school even though our participation in the program is higher than the school that houses the after school program.

Wonderful school. The teachers are great and so dedicated. My children have had great experiences at this school. It is such a welcoming school, the staff are so involved with the students. I am always surpised at how many different staff members my children know even if they don't have them as a teacher. I love the positive comments I hear about my children as well. Its so nice when teachers/staff take the time to tell you the things they enjoy about your children! Such a positive environment for my children to be in each day.

Leighton has overcome great obstacles! I would not choose to send my children to any other school! The teachers care about these children and their futures. I've seen them put in countless hours preparing and working to meet every child's needs. Teachers have put together talent shows, after school activities, clubs to keep students connected. Teachers have encouraged students to push themselves and reach for goals... Teachers have trained with and ran 5k's with students who had never imagined doing so in the past. Rarely is this school referred to as Leighton school but instead they've created a Leighton family. I am blessed that my children are part of this environment to learn and grow. Always greeted with smiles and so much love and support! The Home & School connection is strong- interactive presentations are brought in on a regular basis and students and families are a huge part of what happens in the school. Such an amazing school family with a highly effective staff.

I couldn't ask for a more supportive and creative environment to teach! I am beyond thankful for the opportunity I've been given this year. Such an amazing school! The teachers want to be there and put in so much time creating the best environment for our students!! Our new principal is coming in with such great energy... I am excited to see the wonderful things he has planned to continue supporting this school in the amazing things it's capable of!
