Lincoln is amazing! All of our kids have gone there and have developed great groups of friends that they're now carrying into the middle school and high school. The teachers and staff actually know all the kids' names and care about their home situation. I would recommend this school all day long!!

All three of our boys have gone to Lincoln Elementary and have loved it. The school is full of nurturing, patient and well educated teachers. They are constantly striving to find ways to teach so that each child's needs are met. The community at Lincoln feels like a family, as all of the parents are highly encouraged to participate on campus with activities and volunteer opportunities. There are many, many extracurricular programs offered here at Lincoln, with a wide range: sports, robotics, Taiko drumming, etc. Our principal, Mrs. G is a fantastic leader for our school. She knows every child and is always open to conversations about how to improve things at Lincoln. We are so grateful to be a part of this community and so thankful to have our kids here. They feel safe and loved and have learned SO much!

As a school year 2024-2025 last minute transfer, our family was given a warm welcome by Ms. Ann (office manager) and Mrs. Golliher (Principal) since the very beginning. Everything went smoothly with my daughter's transition, and I attribute this to the staff's availability and ability to answer questions when we had any. The school grounds are well-kept and clean. The staff (principal, teachers, aides, food service, custodians, campus monitors, front office) are seasoned, experienced or well-trained. There has not been an occurrence when I've reached out to anyone, and a question or concern was not addressed accordingly. My daughter's classroom teachers along with her PE and Science teachers plus the Librarian are organized, creative and truly have a passion for what they do, which goes beyond instruction and learning. In addition to the district-contracted afterschool program Think Together, the school also offers Taiko drumming, Choir, Robotics, Arts & Crafts, Spelling Bee, Finance and Global Explorers: Languages, Music, and Culture to mention a few. The well-established PTA, Parents And Lincoln Staff (PALS Club), works collaboratively with the school and other service agencies to help ensure that all students have the opportunity to join events (Turkey Trot, Movie Nights, Science Camp, Winter Wonderland, Spooktacular), have access to resources and extracurricular activities (Reading Eggs, Theater Factory production, Sewa ASPIRE) and receive appropriate PBIS-based incentives year-round. We are very pleased with our decision to transfer to Lincoln and continue to be enthusiastic about all the wonderful things it has to offer. The safe, nurturing, diverse and appropriately challenging environment has done wonders for my daughter's growth, self-esteem, socialization skills and overall academic progress.

This is our first year at Lincoln and it has been very positive. I didn't know what to expect but the principal and the teachers are well-prepared, organized, engaged & supportive - my kiddo is thriving and loving school. Parent community is active and the PALs group is really investing time and effort into school events & enrichment. I absolutely love the community aspect of Lincoln Elementary and hope the school is around for many more years to come. Go Leopards!

Why is it listed as a “school rule” to “celebrate diversity”? How about you focus on test scores and education our children. I’d prefer you celebrate literacy but based on the reviews and test scores I’d say you have a long way to go.

I can’t be happier with my child’s experience at this school. He loves going to school. The after school activities offered here are diverse and engaging. The teachers are dedicated and are great with the kids. I highly recommend Lincoln for its excellent education, after school programs and the exceptional teachers.

I'm surprised the rating for the school is low, but that has to do more with test scores than the culture of the school. This is my daughter's first year at Lincoln and we've loved our experience so far. We have a highly engaged parent group who hosts many events like Movie Night throughout the year. The after school child care, Think Together, is also free and my daughter has a ton of fun! In addition to regular after school care, the principal has brought many free after school enrichment classes which my daughter is participating in. We have Art, Yoga, Robotics, Geography Bee, Taiko Drumming (separate from the other programs) and Choir (paid for by our Parent Group).I've spoken to a few other parents from other schools in the area and I don't think they have the free enrichment classes.

Three of my children have or are currently attending Lincoln Elementary. My youngest has been in the SPED program since Whiteford Preschool, and I was so happy to have him attend our home school, Lincoln. We've had excellent experiences with general ed and SPED teachers. We've had wonderful principals throughout our entire Lincoln Elementary journey. I was most excited to learn that our Musick Elementary principal would now be our Lincoln principal. We got to know Principal Golliher at Musick Elementary. She listened as I vented my frustrations with admin and made me feel heard and valued. She is knowledgeable, kind, and funny. She cares about her students and staff. We love her and are grateful she's part of our Lincoln community! While NUSD has had a revolving door of superintendents, I am most grateful for my children's teachers, and Lincoln Elementary has some of the best teachers! My oldest is now a junior in high school, and we still talk about Lincoln teachers. Lincoln teachers genuinely love their students! I see it in the afterschool programs, the rallies and activities, the formal and informal meetings/check-ins, and the greetings. Under Principal Golliher's leadership, Lincoln Elementary is in great hands!

Lincoln Elementary has been outstanding for our daughter so far. She has progressed very well academically, and she loves her teachers.Lincoln and the parents' organization (PALS) have also begun hosting extra (free or low-cost) after-school enrichment programs this year. Would highly recommend Lincoln Elementary to all parents.

My husband and I can't brag enough how happy we are with this school. The principal and staff have been friendly and professional since day one. My son and daughter love their teachers and other staff members at this campus. Our kids' teachers meet their academic needs/goals and keep us informed w/regular updates. We chose this school last year after home schooling our special needs son. We had endured multiple safety incidents, no academic goals met, and the aggressive behaviors that developed while my son attended Kennedy Elementary. You can imagine our joy when we showed up to tour this school in the summer of 2023 and were met with our son's 1st principal from Musick Elementary, Ms. Golliher! What a ray of sunshine! Many families like ours were devastated and displaced when Musick Elementary was shut down. It was a big blow to the special education program there as well. Many families within our community are still trying to recover from that shut down. Since enrolling at Lincoln Elementary we have reunited with several Musick Elementary school families. Our kids' academics and are thriving, and our son's aggressive behaviors are no longer present. I have and often recommend Lincoln Elementary school to anyone looking to have their kid attend a school that is safe and academically booming.

Lincoln Elementary truly stands out in the realm of public education. The Transitional Kindergarten program here is exemplary, with my younger son achieving significantly higher school readiness than my older son did in a private TK program. The difference in educational quality is evident and highly commendable. The teachers at Lincoln Elementary skillfully cater to each student's unique abilities. This is exemplified by my second-grade son, who received advanced math challenges to match his skills, reflecting the school's commitment to personalized education.Principal Mrs. Golliher's leadership adds greatly to the nurturing atmosphere of the school. Her and the teachers' dedication to student well-being and academic excellence is clear in every aspect of the school's environment. The school's approach to homework is balanced, providing meaningful yet manageable assignments that respect family time and allow for additional learning opportunities. This approach is crucial for well-rounded development. The PALS parent group significantly contributes to the school's warm and inclusive community, organizing various events that bring families together. Their efforts, alongside the school's commitment to diversity, foster a respectful and supportive environment for all students.Lincoln Elementary's extracurricular offerings are impressive, including the 'Think Together' after-school program, Taiko drumming classes, and upcoming new programs like robotics. These activities, combined with a robust academic curriculum, make Lincoln Elementary not just an educational institution, but a nurturing community that inspires and educates.

My son studies currently at grade 1. His Kindergarten teacher was excellent( Ms.Laporte), we were so happy on enrolling him here. Following year his teacher was not so good( not as experienced). While talking to other parents I heard their kids have also gotten new ( not so experienced) teachers.. upon talking to the principal, budget cuts was the answer received.. the experienced teachers are so very good, I adore them. But.. there’s no say on who would be my sons next teacher… his performance relies on the teacher he gets.. that worries me… I wished the experienced teachers were still allowed to stay like in the past.. it would save the schools rating atleast..

Good school overall. The community is supportive, and parents really seem to care about the school. New principal this year (2019-20), and lots of new teachers, so things may change

My daughter is in 1st grade at Lincoln. We love the school. The PALs Club is like no other. The staff, Teachers, and Principal (Mrs. Erhlich) are top notch. It is refreshing to see a pleasant reception when popping into the office and a Principal helping with curbside dropoff by opening the car doors for students. It is nice having a Principal that stays involved and looks towards improving things for students constantly. I am very happy with the education my child is receiving.

I have to contradict the review of this school and the principal and say, Mrs. Ehrlich is fantastic. She listens to parents, she is invested in students. She makes it a point to sing to every kid on their birthday, she supports struggling kids and their families. She has been unfairly treated by some parents because she enforces rules fairly and provides much needed structure. This school's test scores have been improving over the last few years and I think that says a lot about her and the staff at Lincoln.

Although the school itself is pretty good, the administration is terrible! Ever since this new principal has taken over a couple of years ago, the decorum of the school has gone down significantly. The prior principal, who's now at a different Newark school, had Lincoln in tip top shape - EVERYBODY knew who she was and she knew ALL the kids by their first name and became very personable which in turn just turned that school into a rock star school. But since Mrs. Ehrlich has taken over, more fights have happened on campus and the environment has quickly shifted. If you talk with the students on campus (I have multiple times since I have children that attend there currently) they will tell you how non responsive their principal is and how abrasive she can be most of the time. The more seasoned teachers who have been there the longest are absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! They care about these kids and have their best interest at heart and it shows throughout the school. The PALS group (mainly the parents) at Lincoln are a phenomenal group of parents who really do care about our children - THANK YOU!!
