Best school in the world, with extremely high ratings by everyone, and negative bullying. Would recommend!

My daughter had an amzing four years here. Starting from freshman year during covid, the school has been super engaging and really strives to make all students happy. The teachers are really good, especially Ms. Wu, the AP Lit teacher. My daughter has learned so much in her classes and thoroughly enjoyed the sports like soccer, tennis, and lacrosse.

Outstanding teachers and resources for a public high school. Balancing course work and extra-curriculars were challenging for our son, but he is a better student, athlete and person after his 4 years here. Great experience overall.

My child graduated recently and is now at one of the HYPSM schools. I think, as with any school, public or private, that there are good vs poor teachers, and who you get is mainly a matter of luck. The counselors are good, for the most part, and some are absolutely fantastic (we were lucky to have been assigned to her!). Be upfront with your counselor at the first meeting, and talk about the goals, college or extracurricular or other. They will work with you. I didn't realize until recently that some schools make kids test into the AP track, but here, it's all based on student choice, which I really like. Let the kids push themselves if they think they can do it. The administration is fairly flexible with kids who need time off to pursue national-level extracurriculars, and I think teachers are understanding as well. Overall, I am very happy with my child's experience there.

If your child is already an straight A student - then there is no problem because they don't really have to teach. If not I would recommend to stay away. Also the administration changed my child's counselor from a good one to one who's there employed but not really counseling. We could change the counselor once in these 4 years but my child probably won't get the old one back. For the development perspective of my teen it can't be worse.

After personally attending the predecessor school, my 3 boys all graduated from Mountain View. The school offers wide levels of curriculum (basic, honors and AP classes). Graduates have gone on to Ivy league, private and public universities as well as JCs and trade schools. The staff is supportive of assisting your child in both setting and achieving their personal goals. Various extra-curricular activities (sports, drama, band, computer, robotics and other various clubs) enable your students to get a broad life experience. I believe that MVHS offers everyone a great start to prepare for adulthood.

My youngest daughter graduated last June from MVHS and I can't say enough good things about this school. Teachers are great -- especially the History and English faculty. They have an absolutely amazing performing arts program. My kids were in band and I really appreciated all that they learned besides music from the program -- leadership, dedication, and at times, conflict management. Classes were challenging and appropriately leveled. Both kids feel that they were well prepared for their college coursework. And finally, socially, the kids at MVHS are pretty good kids. No crazy drug issues or anything like that!

I moved into the area four years ago and have been so impressed and delighted with Mountain View High. My kids have thrived - meeting great friends, having terrific, attentive teachers, and a wealth of extra-curricular clubs, teams and programs.
