Alta Vista helped me see my true potential when I was coming out of a difficult mindframe. I went from delinquent to honor role, through transferring to this school. The staff was incredible and I am really thankful.

I started going to Alta Vista High School my junior year 2010 due to the fact that my old school PALY said that I only had the credits of a sophomore during my junior year they said I wasn't going to graduate and also that I wasn't even going to make it to my senior year. That's when they gave me the referral for Alta Vista and that right there was one of the best decision that PALY had ever made for me during my almost three years there. At Alta the teachers there are so supportive and the principal and office staff were amazing as well everywhere you felt support and you felt like somebody actually had your back. I got offered my senior year while I was at Alta Vista to go back to PALY I said NO! I did not want to step anywhere near the school that was about to give up on me so I stayed and graduated from Alta Vista in 2011. I graduated and finished school a month earlier than Palo Alto High School students and also graduated with extra credits under my belt. I was so proud of myself. Alta Vista does wonders for students that feel like that they're about to give up and I went from having barely any confidence in my school work to feeling like I can do anything that was put in front of me. I was on honor roll at Alta Vista a few times and those rewards gave me even for confidence in school. Alta Vista was my second family and I could never forget everything that they have done for me. I'm a proud Alta Vista Aztec for life. Thank you Alta.

I mentor a student who is going there and she has gone from an F student to an A student. She loves the fact that the teachers are there for her and she feels safe and supported.

Well what can I say about good old Alta Vista High School. I attended this School my Sophomore and junior year. (2009-2011) This School Changed my life for good, by helping me reach my goals and essentially my dreams. The staff is extremely dedicated to the students. There is an excellent relationship between this school and the local community colleges (De Anza and Foothill). Which is awesome because it offers student opportunities to explore what's out there. AVHS will always hold a speacial place in my mind and heart.
