My kids have gone here for 3 years now and we have had no issues. My children receive extra help where needed and love all of the teachers. This school was a much better option then public schools and we are glad we made the choice to go here.

Do NOT I Repeat do not send your child here. The reviews are correct. It only matters how deep your pockets are, but even that will take you so far. If you question anything in regards to the teachers you will be the talk of the school. We have donated thousands, on top of tuition, and I gladly unenrolled my children from this school. The head master has no control over the school or is he aware of what even goes on. His teachers run the school and are allowed to do whatever they want.

I was impressed at first and my child was thrilled to go to school here, but that went downhill when a student started bullying him. I brought this to the teacher's attention several times by email, text, and a couple of parent teacher meetings. I didn't understand why there was not a resolution. My final email I had enough! I even said it, I pay for an education, not bullying. Instead of reaching back to me, the teacher with the principal decided to basically intimidate my child with the very person that was bullying him without me present, terrifying him, making him cry, and dared not mention it. And made it seem like my child was lying because he didn't admit to the other kid hitting him IN FRONT OF HIM. What was going on in their minds!?!?! Do they not understand that he was afraid and would deny it because when the adults back are turn the aggressive behavior and perhaps worse will return. Unreal. Needless to say, I removed him immediately.

If you family has been attending for some time, you are involved, and of course donating your child is treated as such. If you are in the bucket where you can afford to pay the tuition and assume that is enough your child moves down the list. I currently have a child in the school and I'm not happy. The teacher is cold, unpleasant and doesn't really seem invested in the children. The school doesn't seem to punish for bullying but does punish the child being bullied when they have been forced to defend themselves due to the teachers indifference. I could continue to list all the things I'm unhappy about but I'll end it with the only good thing they do teach the kids about God and in a manner that the kids can relate to.

This is my first year teaching at SJCA (I've spent 14 years teaching in public schools). I'm not here to make a case for public vs private because both have their pros and cons. I do want to speak about the wonderful atmosphere into which I have been immersed this year. The students are respectful, genuine, and a pleasure to teach. I love the small class sizes so that I can get to know students on a more personal basis, as well as having an opportunity to help them recognize their strengths and work on their weaknesses. I feel appreciated by students, parents, coworkers, and administrators. I love being in a place where the principles of God's Word are taught and followed. Amazing things are happening at SJCA...and I'm so blessed to be a part of it!

SJCA has been one of the best choices my husband and I have made for our 3 children who attend. Their spiritual growth over the past 8 years is so evident and a joy to watch. Each morning my children look forward to going to school. We have always loved our teachers, supported their instruction, and encouraged them to continue academic excellence in the classroom. My children are challenged and given opportunities to get involved in community service. Don't take my word for it though, you should come check it out yourself. They welcome visitors and give tours. Come see what you could be missing out on! SJCA is a family atmosphere. I really love how high school students are great mentors to the younger students. My children look up to them and always notice when they are going above and beyond to help someone. My husband and I are more than happy with our decision to send our children to school there.

My children both graduated from SJCA, and they were well prepared both academically and spiritually to excel in college and beyond. They enjoyed the small classes, personal attention from their teachers, opportunities to participate in athletics, and the ability to earn college credits while in high school.

I'm a student at SJCA and I absolutely love this school! I came to SJCA in 5th grade and have continued to stay here through my high school years. This school has not only given me an excellent education, but they have also brought me closer in my relationship to God! There's a stereotype about private school kids, but my family sacrifices so much in order for me to attend SJCA. Yes, every school has their faults, but what many fail to see is that there is much more pros than cons. I thank God every day for this school! I could never imagine going to a different school. This school is my home and my family! I love my school and love how we are constantly involved in service projects to serve our community and different countries and nations around the world. I tell my friends that this is the best time of our lives and we need to enjoy the present! We do have some more expenses than other schools, but that's because we are a very small school and need the money to continue running the school. And the teachers go above and beyond to teach us! We have teachers come to SJCA from Berkeley, and I can tell you, it's not because of what they're paid. God Bless SJCA!

I have worked at this school for 16 years. The staff is like family. There is not a big turn around in the employment. I have seen kids lives changed by the care of the teachers. The goal is to share Christ while preparing the children for a college education.

The reviews below are spot-on. While the education your child receives is relatively ok, the treatment that they will receive while they attend this school greatly depends on how deep your pocketbook is or what position you or a close family member holds politically. My child attended this school for four years but no longer goes there. When we first moved to the area and enrolled, I was very pleased with them. Each year it seemed to go a little further downhill. If you have any problems don't even bother going to the headmaster. He's a joke. He'll try to make you feel like you are the problem when you are clearly not. Teachers pick favorites and if your child is not a favorite, the school year will not be a happy one. The favorites get a blind eye when they do wrong and they are allowed to walk all over everyone else. If you are looking for a CHRISTIAN school where all children are treated fairly, this is NOT it. The gossip that goes on between parents, teachers and staff is also absurd! Don't think your business won't be spread all over that school if you mention it to one person. Don't waste your time or money on this school. You will not get out of it what you put in to it.

SJCA is not the so called "Christian" school it used to be. A lot of wolves in sheep clothing. You are not accepted for who you are. Not all, but the majority of the staff/teachers, and the headmaster pick and choose their favorites. It is not a One Big Happy Family school the other reviews try to make this school out to be. This is no front page news. Just ask around the Town of Moncks Corner, and you will hear the same thing by former families that once attended the school. And, that speaks for itself because at one time, there was a waiting list to enroll in SJCA, but now there is plenty of openings to enroll students. One might think enrollment is down due to the fall in the economy, but like I said, just ask around. Good people, and their families will tell you their true reasons for leaving.

I am very happy with St. John's and cannot understand some of the negative reviews. The teachers have always gone above and beyond to care for and educate my children, and the headmaster is a strong leader who is well grounded in Christ. The school's academic standards are high, as evidenced by their test scores, college acceptance record, and the scholarships received by the graduating class. I have frequently had other tell me how polite and respectful children from SJCA are when attending athletic and other events outside of school. This Christian environment is what I want for my children, and I am convinced they are in the right place.

As a former graduate of St. John's Christian Academy, I would like to share my educational experience. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend a school which emphasized both a Christian and a quality academic program. The teachers actually genuinely cared about us and went the extra mile to make sure that we did the best we could in their classes. I was able to start college with 23 credit hours because of the Dual Credit program. I also found that I was prepared well and able to more than compete academically with students who had attended larger private schools and public schools. I also loved the firm Christian foundation that I received from SJCA. The spiritual freedom enjoyed in a Christian school helped me to grow in my faith and develop a strong Christian worldview. Going to chapel and experiencing BIble classes where we could pray and speak freely about God helped me to learn values which will serve me well as I make choices in life.

I'm an alum of SJCA, and I still think of my time there fondly. I attended St. John's for my entire school career, as did the majority of the people that I am still best friends with today. I know many younger people that still attend the school, and I can tell that the same high academic standards that I was held to several years ago are still in place. The staff is dedicated and takes the time to know students. Once I got to college, I found myself missing the personalization of a teacher who knows your name and that you look up to as a mentor and leader. SJCA is still a Christian school. The fact that I could pray and attend a weekly worship service in a time where religion and state are kept far apart was something that I highly valued. St. John's prepared me for college adeuately and in an atmosphere that promoted learning, fellowship and faith. I would not hesitate to send my children there in the future because I know that they would receive an excellent education - in curriculum and in Christ - and would have teachers and staff that looked after them as if they were their own. SJCA is a large part of my life and is somewhere that I am proud to say that I'm a graduate of.

As parents of SJCA children, we are considering removing our children at the end of this school semester. We liked what we were offered five years ago and accepted. Now the head administrator has really let us down. Having no support for our child's teacher problem, it seems we have no choice but to find education else where. The parent, teacher confidentuality does not remain where it starts. I never expected to hear our P/T conversation again from other school parents. How appalling!! I hope the circle of friends as the leadership of the school will see that we as parents pay the price to SJCA for a valued education not daycare. I feel the school has lost respect for our childrens future. It's obvious some of the teachers are there due to the benefits of tuition discount. So, good for them, but don't leave out the children that are there on their parents checks that are paid in full. If enough of us don't see a turn around and decide to leave, who's going to pick up the difference of these half priced students. The teachers don't seem to be qualified. Should there be an audit for certification? Wake up people, we don't want to leave, but you're giving us no choice.
