My child has been attending Taylor Middle School for the past 1.5 years, and we’ve been very happy with our experience. The principals are highly involved and genuinely care about the students, fostering a safe and welcoming environment. They are also receptive to feedback, engaging parents and students in decisions like elective offerings. In the past couple of years, many great clubs have been introduced, enriching the school experience. We’ve also appreciated the expansion of the Accelerated Math program, which has provided more students with opportunities to challenge themselves academically. Overall, Taylor Middle School has a strong, supportive community and excellent learning opportunities, and we’re grateful to be part of it.

When I went to Taylor, the school was exceptional. Over the last few years, I've seen a change -- I worry about the safety of my kids; some teachers seem to not care, while others do a great job, so my scores on learning are in the middle.

Addressing complex and sensitive topics in educational settings requires careful consideration, particularly when it involves young students. Taylor has been facing criticism for its handling of LGBT-related content. The content, intended for educational purposes, was not presented in an age-appropriate manner, leading to confusion and misinformation among the students. Homework assignments related to the topic further exacerbated the situation, as they were not tailored to the students' understanding or maturity levels. Very disappointed and frustrated!

Taylor Middle School is a great school

What was once a great school, has failed miserably in the last few years. From teacher scandals that have been ignored, to lack of care by majority of the staff. I say majority, because it is not "all" - there are staff members who are dedicated to their craft and have interest in seeing their students succeed. However, you will have more short timers, looking to get their experience - and not care at all about creating a good foundation for the children in this school district. 3 of the 4 elementary schools feeding into Taylor are fairly good in comparison to others, and you would think Taylor would want to continue to foster that in preparation for High School. Because of Taylors poor standards they are on a great path to diminishing the Mill HS standards and rankings as Taylor feeds into Mills HS. This is sad to see as people use to scramble to move to Millbrae due to their schools. Millbrae school district has to either step it up or step out of their position(s). There's a huge decline in your ratings - you may want to evaluate your run rate and look at what impacted those changes (decline). You can't keep asking the same question and expect a different answer.

This school is the most racist school I have been in. I would describe it as place where institutional racism is present and where administration and teachers choose to ignore the issues in their community while focusing more on sports and drinking. "Go Justice!" should be the motto of this school, teachers use silence as a way of communicating instead of choosing to have true dialogue to solve the issues of the school. Reminds me of a bunch of ostriches with their heads in the sand while a toxic environment is all around, they choose not to see it. Ignoring issues has a lot to do with it and empowers the toxic students to keep on poisoning the educational institute that should be treating all its students fairly and standing up to hate and racism, especially in this time in our country.

Looks like Taylor is just the best Middle School in Peninsula area. My daughter love it!

My 8th grader enjoys Taylor and all it has to offer- KTLR - anchoring, producing and directing live TV daily, participating in a PE sponsored dance off, playing volleyball, basketball, a trip to Washington DC with the sojourn program. But what is most important to me she is safe and well cared for by the exceptional administration and staff. The principal Dr. Martin even stands in all kinds of weather in the drive through daily to ensure that everyone is picked up and teachers are available if students need some extra explaining. They have a homework center and a number of other clubs and activities such as leadership, a large band and an assortment of opportunities to succeed. This is my third Taylor student and I have nothing but a positive rating for this school. I feel that all three children received an excellent education at Taylor and made it safely through the Middle School Years. Which, if you have had a middle schooler you will understand is quite an accomplishment. Many thanks from our family for all your hard work and dedication!
