We loved our school experience here!Our son enjoyed the teachers and administrators and all of the HARD WORK that they did for the kids….. especially through Covid. But this entire school district was already ready for a lockdown… They had already been sending laptops and iPads home with the kids… We were ahead of most schools we knew in other areas!!Again, the staff has always gone above and beyond to help children feel accepted and wanted in a place that takes their curriculum seriously.

My son has been going to this school for two years now. He is in 1st grade. Let me start off by saying I feel like the parent and the teacher should have a good relationship. But unfortunately I feel as if his teacher could care less about his learning curve. I feel as if she just sends them home with a color and some homework and calls it a day. I am not feelling as if she has any dedication or relationship with her students. When I call in I have called and left messages to reach out to her. There is not much communication about how my son is doing or him or his potential. We had Mrs. Buche last yr for Kindergarten and she was wonderful I just dont understand how the quality of teachers can defer in such a big way. I cant tell you how many time my son has been down to the nurse and I dont recieve any notification. He has had a huge lump on his head and sent back to class and also a leg that he wasnt able to walk on the whole day and also sent back to class. My son is 6 years old there should be a law in where the school needs to contact the parent. I am not sure the nurse is even qualified to diagnose a sprain, fracture, concussion etc..

Last year on the first day of school I was walking by a couple teachers in the hall and they were doing the sarcastic eye rolling. They were talking about going to get the kids and saying something about it being like going into battle. Seemed a bit negative. If you hate your job, please find something else to do. Second grade seems to be a frantic cram session so that the kids will pass the ISTEP tests in third grade. I am guessing that if they kids don't pass then the school doesn't get more money from the state? No matter what it is, second grade seems like its going to be a pretty unhappy experience. I was also informed by the teacher on "meet the teacher night" that I should be voting democratic. Totally inappropriate. I don't know if the prob is the school or the public system?
