We've had two kids go completely through Lincoln Elementary and Hanover Middle School and High School. We currently have a little one that just got done with a couple of years at Lincoln and now she is off to Red Cedars. So far so good. Our boys were honor students and our daughter is turning out to be just like her brothers. The schools have always been supportive, sure they've had some hiccups along the way but they seem to come back better than before. Ever since we enrolled our way back in 2005, we've felt like Hanover has always provided a safe, fun, supportive environment that kids can thrive in. We love Hanover, we are HC!!!

Our second child had some learning/classroom struggles. Hanover's ineffective response is why I withdrew him. They offer before-school tutoring, but my child (and at least one other friend) went to school early for a while but half the time the teachers for tutoring were not there. One friend (who had NO homework support at home) thus failed and could not graduate with his class. Our child was severely scolded by two teachers in one academic meeting (even tho one teacher had just complemented him on his progress). To the two other teachers the progress was not "enough". Advanced students who volunteered to tutor our child were too busy with their own homework to help him more than one time. Hanover is FINE for the average to good student. Administration people seemed positive...and helpful, but the counselors were NOT. Will not offer details...too personal. If your child possibly has some mild special needs or needs a true tutoring support center, move to another district. Otherwise, the school will be fine for the average to good student.

The school overall used to be good. But the introduction of Miss West as the principle has begun to bring the school down slowly. She runs the school the way she envisions it and is arrogant to anyone that things any other way; with the main issue being which classes are prioritized over others. The teachers are good though and they care about the students, but many of the ones that care have retired or left for a better job. Overall the athletics are nice and ran well, but their aren't many clubs available. Theirs only a limited selection of things to choose from, which again is due to Miss West prioritizing what she thinks would be best, when it in fact doesn't benefit the students the best.

I currently go to HC and it's honestly not a bad school. With all the stuff that is going on I think the corporation is doing an okay job. From a student's perspective it's very boring though. There aren't many different classes to take to ensure student success. There are some phenomenal teachers- and some teachers that should be kicked out the door. Overall it's not a very good experience for a student... but it isn't awful.

This school sucks. The teachers don't care and the environment is horrible. If you're thinking of moving here, DON'T!

I have two students who are attending Hanover Central High School. Overall, it is a good school. Because it is small, it is easy for kids to get involved in their sport/activity of their choice without much worry of "not making it." Their honors program is not as challenging as it could/should be, and most of the AP teachers there are not interested in helping the kids pass the AP tests. The administration does not communicate well (or seem to want to) with parents. The new principal seems dedicated to bringing up the academics so hopefully it will get better as times goes on.

Both my children attend Hanover Central. We moved here from Ilinois many years ago. They were both at the elementary, middle school and now High School. I can say, they both love it! The staff is awesome, helpful and everyone gets along with everyone. There is very little if any crime here. Its is a small school but the attention is focused on the students. I am very happy I chose this district to live in for my children rather than other high schools with lots of drug and crime and over the student limit in classes. Any neg feedback on this is that of parents that are picky. Would you rather have your child in a over crowded school with a crime rate that is high and drugs are everywhere? . GO WILDCATS!
