I wasnt very impressed with Jane Ball Elementary School last year. My daughter was in kindergarten last year and began school enthusiastic about learning. All day kindergarten is quite the adjustment for kids who attend preachool for 2.5 hrs a day/3 days a week. My child cried nearly every day before and after school for the entire school year. I reached out to the school counselor after we passed the frst month and I saw no let up. The counselor did teach out to me, but then after one visit concluded that some children take longer to adjust than others. She then told me she wouldnt be able to see my daughter often bc other children had more serious matters to address. She was too busy putting together bullentin boards in the hallway with PTO members. She suggested I work more closely with her teacher which is what i did even before contacting the counselor. It could be that my daughters teacher had no children of her own, that she also did not take my concerns of childs anxiety seriously. This first year of school sets the tone for many children in furthering their education. Luckily, we moved and she now goes to a diff district which has already made a positive impact on my daughters peception of school in her first few weeks. I did not feel this school genuinely cares about making a lasting impression on its children who attend here. They do not have the right staff here to work with our precious babies.

In my opinion, Jane Ball has fallen apart. There is a lot of administration turn-over, and their high ability program is lacking. Communication is poor, the lunch program is terrible, and little to no parent participation. There are too many classroom distractions and disruptions as well and kids are not disciplined appropriately.

These people should feel ashamed of themselves. My godson has been getting in trouble almost everyday:on a verge of suspension and being expelled for small actions that in his eyes are nothing but innocent. He was sent to a principal's office for touching a girl's arm, then suspended for sending kissie faces at a girl in class. He doesn't have many friends & keeps emotions to himself making the rest of the school look at him as a freak. No matter how innocent his actions are, they're being blown out of proportion just so they have a reason to keep him out of school. A kid picking on a 'special' boy by calling him names has the same meaning as a teacher / principal making the boy feel like he doesn't belong ... It's called bullying! No child should miss out on education just because they're different. Teachers are there to create a fun but most importantly SAFE environment got our kids, something that THIS school is clearly lacking.

Jane ball is from what I see is underrated .The principal and the staff I have dealt with are very professional.

We've had family in and out of Jane Ball for over 20 years now. One of my children has finished the 5th grade (it only goes till the 5th grade) and I have two children who are still going there. It is a wonderful school. We have VERY high rate of involved parents which truly makes a difference. I have nothing bad to say about it and I would recommend it to anyone.

We were new this year my son a third grade has been picked on and bullied all year, while the Principal knows of the problem he is doing nothing to help leaving it to the teacher My son went from enjoying school to asking if he could stay home everyday from being bullied. I hope things change in this school otherwise they are going to loose a lot of kids. we are moving to another school district this year a better one.
