Great school and great community. They have an abundance of resources to meet students where they are and lift them up.

The teachers so far have been great, however being REPEATEDLY disrespected by the front desk staff when asking questions is frustrating. Deneen has repeatedly been condescending when asked for clarification and guidance on attendance.

I really wish I would have chosen another school for my daughter's Kindergarten year. Her teacher was not well trained on teaching phonics, and my daughter definitely suffered from it. The teachers also did not have appropriate learning supports/ curriculum or decodable books, although they earned a ton of money in fundraisers each year. My daughter was not receiving her services through her IEP for 4 months into the school because the school had lost the IEP during enrollment and it wasn't flagged. My kid started hating school from a young age, unfortunately, due to a stressful, chaotic environment and her anxiety rose at this school. I contacted the principal a few times and never got a response. We changed schools after a very disappointing kindergarten year.I would not recommend.

This school does not care about their students well being or safety. I have two children that attend this school and both have been bullied and no one listens. My oldest child had two students tell her they were going to shoot her mom and dad and the school only gave them a “talk”. One day she accidentally hit a student with her lunch box and he reacted by punching her in the chest several times and the school once again only talked to him cause “he’s a good kid”. This school does nothing when it comes to these serious issues. Both my kids have stated they don’t feel wanted at this school and the principal even asked them and told him they didn’t, yet nothing is being done to protect them or make them feel wanted here.

I had 3 kids enrolled at Eagle Ridge Elementary (ERE) and wish I could go back in time and enroll them elsewhere as our experience at this school left MUCH to be desired. While this school is a “Leader in Me” school (a curriculum meant to build leadership in students), you’d never know it by the ineffective leadership the school currently has. Principal Humphreys may seem great at first blush, but in actuality he actually has very little leadership skills and provides little to no opportunities for development. This lack of leadership is evident in the immense amount of teacher turnover (some teachers were so downtrodden this past year, they left mid school year). The school is very big (600+ kids when other schools are around 400 -/+) which can be a good thing or bad. We’ve found it to be a bad thing as there just isn’t enough resources for all the kids. In my kids’ specials classes (art, PE, music), there are over 35 kids in their class as there is 4 grade level classrooms but only 3 specials so they divide the entire ~100 kids into 3 groups. ERE says they are adding another specials class next year so hopefully that helps but ridiculous the overly large class sizes was ever the case. There are a lot of kids who show up at ERE with significant needs (low income, English language learners, families who move often, etc.) and while I welcome this, ERE is not equipped to deal with the needs these kids bring to the school. Admin says they are adding additional support in the form of another counselor, 2 behavior specialists and a calm-down room) for the 22/23 school year. I do hope these changes help because the lack of support/resources have proven detrimental to my kids, and other kids who show up ready to learn, as they often experienced “room clears” (where all students have to leave the classroom because another student is being unsafe), instructional disruptions, etc. There also seems to be no real discipline protocol in place at the school. Students there are able to get away with deplorable behavior; threatening others, yelling/screaming, disrespectful to teachers, etc. Sure, they’ll be sent to the Principal’s office but they’ll return to the classroom shortly thereafter, often with a lollipop in their mouths, courtesy of the administration. I could go on and on but I am approaching my limit of words for this review. If I can leave readers with any words of wisdom it is this: look elsewhere as this is not an environment conducive to learning.

Two of my children are students at Eagle Ridge (2nd and 4th) and both love their school and teachers. Teachers are attentive and know my children well. We are a bilingual family with extra educational responsibility (learning to read and write in another language). Both kids show excellent progress thanks to the support they receive.

I cannot say enough about our experience for the last 9 years at Eagle Ridge. I wish I could have had my kids' elementary experiences. Eagle Ridge has laid a strong academic and community foundation for the long term.

We LOVE Eagle Ridge! Douglas Humphreys (Principal) is absolutely amazing. He has such a strong relationship with students and teachers, AND parents. Gina Landis the vice principal has a strong presence in the school, and the students really seem to trust her, and have a high level of respect. We love this school and are so lucky it is our home school. Highly recommend!

We had moved my son from Arrowwood to Eagle Ridge. He is now in 6th Grade. The principal, Mr. Douglas Humphreys is readily available and takes action on perceived problems and resolves them. He has high expectations for the teachers and students. I can clearly see the higher standards here. Great teachers who take good care of the kids. School environment is good. The school values diversity and growth. I have very high regards. Thank you.

I would have to say my experience with Eagle Ridge Elementary is poor at best. The students are passed from one grade to the next no matter what they learn or fail to learn. In a former review on January 5th, 2016: " New teachers coming in are awful, uncaring, unsympathetic and lazy." I would totally agree with this review but not just for the new teachers. Current teachers and administration seem to be infected with the same problems. One other issue I would also like to address is that some teachers post pictures of your child online without notifying or asking permission of the parents, which is unethical and unsafe for the children that attend there.

My sixth grader has gone to Eagle Ridge since kindergarten and she is a strong student, community leader and primed for a great path after ERE. So much credit goes to the principal and teaching teams. I love the 7 habits used from K forward. We also have a kindergartner we will happily let follow her sister's path and we hope for another great experience for the next 6+ years. Great school with an academic and community focus.

This school has been a horrible experience. There are truly great teachers but they keep leaving because the leadership is so bad. New teachers coming in are awful, uncaring, unsympathetic and lazy. Stay away from the 5th grade team completely. The 3rd, 4th and 6th grade teams are great, I wish I could give a higher star rating, but I'm glad to be finished with this school.

This school deserves a zero, but I can't. My five-year old has gone to this school for 6 years and every year he has regretted going to the school. I loved the school besides the fact of all the special needs kids not under care and the lack of teachers respect.

Don't bring you child with special education to this school. They don't know what to do with a kid that needs special program. I came from NY and he was in a special group like 10:1 so 10 students:1 teacher. Here they have 29 students:1 teacher and one assistant. Well!!!! that's bad!!! The coordinator for special education never pick up his phone and he never!!! returns your phone calls. Sorry I came to Englewood, CO. My boy cries everyday. He has to be in his own all the time. WOWWWW!!!!!

My daughter has attended Eagle Ridge from all day kindergarten to being currently enrolled in 6th grade. She has had wonderful teachers most of whom are still with the school. The staff is outstanding and will go out of their way to help you. I have been involved in the classroom and on field trips and I know how much the teachers put into their lesson plans and working with their students to help them succeed. My daughter has thrived at Eagle Ridge and I guarantee you would not be disappointed to send your child to our school.

We have loved ERE! We have 2 children, one going on 6 years at ERE and another, 4 years. Most of the teachers are very accessible and open to communication. I have always had any concerns addressed almost immediately! The teachers have been and are very aware of how our kids are doing and where they need to improve. There are programs available to kids who are struggling which as certainly helped one of my children.
