I honestly think GreatSchools rating is biased and should be taken with a grain of salt. I have 2 students who go there and am curretnly actively involved in the PTSA. The teachers care about the students, work hard to maintain positive relationships, and keep everyone safe. They are open to engaging parents and with a child in the special ed department too, I can say that they have very good interventions in place. My students are thriving and I love the culture there.

With 2 at Parkview currently, it has been a wonderful experience. I encourage parents to support the school by getting involved in the PTA.

As a former student, I can say that some teachers had difficulty taking charge of the classroom and many students were disruptive and disrespectful to the teacher and to other students. This made learning hard as it was difficult to concentrate when the classroom seemed chaotic with constant cussing, crude humor, and rude behavior. Also, as a student that moved from another district, they made it impossible for me to get credit for the classes that I was taking at my previous school. All my hard work meant nothing to them even as a straight A student. At the end of my freshmen year I only had 3 credits! As a result, my mother had to drive me to a block schedule school for two years to make up for the lost time at this school. I had also taken and passed my graduation tests my junior year and they made me take them again my senior year. Thankfully, because I put a lot of effort into my school work and didn’t give up I still graduated on time and with honors. But that feat was achieved not because of this school, but in spite of it.

Besides being a fantastically diverse high school, Parkview staff have worked very hard to enforce masks during Covid. My son had been going in person since the beginning of the school year and hasn't gotten sick, or brought it home. That's a HUGE relief for my family and a job well done by staff.

Overall we have been happy with Parkview. We have had a few issues but that will be with any school in any district. I do think the Resource Officer, Officer Herndon, does a great job at handling issues as they are brought to his attention. Administration seems to listen to the students as well when issues arise. We have had a good group of teachers our first year. Hopefully things will change with some of the coaches within some of the programs but again you can't have everything. I look forward to another year at Parkview and have two more daughters to coming to the school soon.

I raised three children in the Parkview High School. My youngest graduated last year. The staff and teachers are second to none and I am proud to call many of them friends. They care about all of the students and are committed to a quality education and well rounded student that wants to be involved in sports, the arts, ROTC, community activities and charitable causes. Parental involvement is key to any school, and any parent that wants to complain without volunteering for events and causes for the school and their children should go somewhere else. I worked full time and was on booster clubs, classroom helper, concession stand, volunteers for events and still made most of my kid's activities. You make time for what is important in your children's lives.

My daughter attends parkview and loves it here. She enjoys the activities as well. So far we have had a pleasant experience. Although, they are sometimes a little stickler on schedule change. I do understand that everyone can't get what they want. I am pleased that we attend such a fantastic school. Looking forward to the rest of the year.

I have children that attend Parkview High School in Gwinnett County. I work very hard to be able to afford to live in the district. It is quite a bit expensive to live there. I am a single mother with a fixed income, so I cannot move. The school is aesthetically beautiful, but it hides what the true picture is. I was hoping my experience would be different, but it has not been a good one. I am very disappointed by the social interaction in the school especially with bullying by female classmates and some intimidation by male jocks in conjunction with my children being discriminated against by students of higher socioeconomic status and some elitist attitudes. The teachers, staff and current principal do little to change the culture at Parkview. It is even hard to approach the principal there. I've tried to talk to him on two different occasions and he blows me off. He was a little unfriendly and non-approachable. If it is not sports, it doesn't matter. One of my daughters is in honors classes and the other is in regular classes, but they say the class experience is the same. Some teachers care about being the best teacher they can be while others don't. My daughters say that some students constantly disrupt class or are disrespectful to the teachers which hinder their learning class lessons and when they ask questions in class they can be ignored some of the time. The only good thing I can say is that the counseling staff and the registrar really care and go out of their way to help my kids succeed. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say. My kids will go to college, but I'm concerned about the students who will get lost amongst the many distractions and still prevalent racial issues at the school. Some of the sports parents have even made me feel like I don't belong there with snide comments and separatism. I am an adult and I can handle and deal with those occurrences, but my children and other children shouldn't have to. I love this community. I have lived in it for 3 years. I challenge all of the faculty and staff to BE better! DO better, Mr. Smith. Don't ignore the truth. "ALL" of Parkview students deserve the BEST education and social experience possible. I am hoping this review will provoke tons of positive changes. Thank you great Schools for providing an avenue to safely share my opinion and give my children and others a voice to be heard.

As a student, I am shocked at the amount of disrespect that other students show teachers. Many don't try their best in the classroom and that leads to negative attitudes shown by other students that are affected. There is a lack of encouragement from peers even at the "gifted" level... There are some who show potential but their bright light is snuffed out by the many others who don't care about their studies. On top of that, most teachers don't care for their students (mainly because they have too many students per class) and it leads to favoritism in the classroom. Parkview's sinking fast and it seems no one wants to right the ship.

Better days are behind Parkview. The school used to be great academically and athletically but no more. The school and Lilburn area has been in a slow decline since the early/mid 2000's. It has really hit Parkview over the past 5-7 years though. It's not unexpected and the same thing happened to nearby Shiloh, Tucker, Stone Mountain and Redan. Would you send your kid to Redan these days? If not, avoid Parkview because Parkview now is like Redan in the mid 90's. You only got a few years before it is totally gone. If you don't mind sending your kid to Redan, then you have nothing to worry about with Parkview.

My school is amazing! You should know that its great social wise, & academically! The education from schools are the number one thing you should think about first! Well, Parkview has a excellent education! I love the facts that my teachers always there to help me, and just waking up in the morning getting ready for the best school in the nation always makes my day. This school is the best, so it doesn't need any improvement! This is the best school. I truly mean it!

Parkview is a great school! The academics are nationally and state ranked and the sports are fantastic(one of the best in the country). The teachers are great and the classes are challenging, although I have to admit that the teachers that are coaches can have the "good ol boy" attitude. I am a Fine Arts student in the Chorus program, and I also have to admit that fine arts comes very secondary to sports. Sports is EVERYTHING at my school. But overall, it is a wonderful school. I would recommend it to any parent to send their kid for a good education.
