This school does not care about the students whatsoever. I have never been this appalled about a school system. I am VERY displeased by the way they have treated my child. My daughter, who is an amazing student, struggles to keep up with the curriculum and maintain a social life at the same time. The teachers are extremely inconsiderate about the fact that these are middle schoolers, even the administrators aren’t concerned about the students future as they put an insane amount of stress on students to pick a high course that is four years long, and the decision can not be refuted. Let me say it once again, these are MIDDLE SCHOOLERS, how can they be expected to know what they want to do in life. For as long as my daughter has been in this school, I have seen her mental health rapidly decline. This is unacceptable as school should be a safe place for students and not the reason they cry every day. I am genuinely so disappointed, I expected better when I saw the posted reviews. The board will be hearing about this . TRICKUM DO BETTER

I've had two children graduate from Trickum, and I would recommend this middle school. Students perform well academically and it's incredibly diverse, which offers a rich experience for all students. Of course there are challenges, but every middle school in the US has similar challenges. Teachers are involved as is school leadership. Lots of extracurricular options for students to learn and grow.

great school with many activities. Many resources for tutoring as well with most teachers.

We moved from out of state about 5 years ago and have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at Trickum. We now have our youngest child starting as a 6th grader so have had three children go through the school.

They had a slow registration process to where my daughter started a week late. When she got her classes she got no help navigating to her classes. Getting stomach aches from nerves because no one was helpful while she was there. No help navigating the online classes and when she asked was told “you learned this last year” this was her first year there. Got calls and emails from the nurse stating that her shots weren't up to date. Which they had to be registered. Constantly harassing her father and I about them hourly on updates for them. Coming to find out this year that she didn't need updating. Horrible nurse in my opinion not being able to read. Do not recommend this school at all.

We love this school! My son is nearing the end of his time at Trickum and we have had a wonderful experience with such a caring staff.

Some days I am pleased, but for the most part I am frustrated. The Monday mail comes out with info for the current week. As a working parent, it hard to readjust the schedule to accommodate what is going on at the school when you find out about it on the first day of the week. The buses get their late and my kids miss the morning announcements, they don't really support any school related activity expecte for basketball, everything else the parents pay for. Every year we have orientation night and they waste thousands of paper on bus route prints. They need to invest in technology that supports the staff, students and parents. Everyone there expect for a couple teachers acts as if my phone call, face to face conversations are unimportant and a complete aggravation to them. If I had to do it over again, I would not have chosen the Parkview Cluster because of our experience at Trickum Middle School.

Bullying is being ignored by certain teachers. When the bullying is observed and reported by students, at least two teachers dismissed and ignored the reports. There is a student being bullied and it has been reported to two teachers several times. They won't do anything about it.

A family member was a student-teacher here and said this school was on the verge of being taken over by the state. (Notice the "missing" greatschools ranking). Although the education isn't the best--and the new principal is making the situation worse; who gave him an administrative license!!?--the parkview cluster excels in politics and pretending to be something their not. Lastly, I've been a substitute teacher at Trickum before and I've never seen so many miserable teachers and lazy students. This cluster has a lot of pride but they're doing their kids a disservice by not instilling respectable values and a good work ethic. I've also overheard quite a few teacher conversations and no one seems to like the new principal. That's a shame because this school used to be gem.

Trickum has been a great experience from my four children. The teachers and staff care about the kids as teachers are prepared to ensure learning. Parent involvement is strong. Like anywhere else, there are some troubled children and families, but those can be learning opportunities for my children as well. Middle school can be a tough time, but TMS does a solid job ushering children through these turbulent years.

I have had three children go to Trickum and we have been pleased with the school. As with any school you have the good and the bad student but that starts at home. Trickum has several GREAT teachers that have made a wonderful impact on my children.

Trickum is a great school. My daughter just finished her third year there and is on her way to Parkview High School. I think she is very prepared for the upcoming year.

My child is a 6th grader at the school and it having a great experience. She is in the STEM program and is with a great group of kids and teachers. I only have good things to say about her experience. There is a new principal this year, Ryan Queen and he is great. I was not impressed at all with the past leadership at the school, but Mr. Queen has demonstrated that his eye and ears are open to parent concerns. He has been a great communicator and he regularly holds parent meetings where there is open forum for questions and concerns to be addressed. He is doing a great job communicating his vision for the school to parents and teachers and I can see through daily work that comes home how that vision is being applied. Great job Mr. Queen and staff!
