My daughter is a rising 8th grader now and she has been attending SJN since she was in 1st grade. I adore this school. It is everything my daughter has needed from the small classrooms, to the caring teachers to the amazing principal, Dr. Julie Broom. The after school care program is called Extended Day Program or EDP. It really is an extension of the day--the culture is still Catholic and students are still expected to be on good behavior. It's just been such a great school for my daughter. I can (and do) email teachers or the principal at any time and it's simple to set up conferences. My other kids went to public school and after elementary, I never knew who their teachers were and setting up conferences was a major task.My daughter has some behavior issues and the school has partnered with me to ensure she thrives. I don't know how we could have done it without SJN.

My wife and I made a great decision to put our two daughters in this school and we are happy that we did. My daughters have gained a lot of confidence and the teachers are patient and ready to work with them to reach their full potential

We are happy with the way our kids are nourished not only academically but also with Christian values. Great Teachers and Administrative Staff!

Yes, it offers great academics, but the reason we chose SJNRCS for our kids was to have their faith be nurtured outside our home--to have it be part of the fabric of their lives all day long--and it has been worth every penny. And my kids love this school!

I have been a parent at this school fro 13 years. My oldest child is now in college and the educational, spiritual and physical development her received set a strong foundation that has served him well beyond his years SJNRCS. I continue to see a strong commitment by the teachers, faculty, parents, and students now. It is a beautiful community!

SJN fosters a safe and caring environment that emphasizes education utilizing the latest technological advances. The teachers truly care for all the students at SJN. My son loves all the teachers and his school. He gets sad when he isn't able attend school when he is sick. He looks forward to summer to end so that he can get back to school. I volunteer at multiple school events and every time I am amazed at how sweet and polite the students are. I see how kind they are to each other in the halls and how sweet and caring the older students are to the younger ones. We are blessed to be a part of the SJNRCS family.

The teachers and facility truly care about my children. SJN fosters a safe and caring environment that emphasizes education utilizing the latest technological advances. SJN establishes a foundation for morals, ethics, diversity, and tolerance as we are all God's children. As a private institution, SJN has a zero tolerance for bullying creating the optimal learning environment. Children learn how important it is to help others by various service learning projects that include feeding the homeless. Leadership skills are developed through student mentoring opportunities. Our oldest daughter received an appointment by her Middle School teacher to attend a leadership camp in Washington, D.C. She was inspired to lead and actually ran for class President in 8th grade. She has been invited to attend the U.S. Presidential inauguration. However, if you have a child that loves sports like my youngest daughter, SJN has an active volleyball program that begins in 5th grade and a basketball program that initiates in 3rd grade. The teachers at SJN truly wish to aid my children in achieving their goals in life. SJN is well worth the financial commitment. New students are always welcome and well received. I transferred a child to this amazing school in third grade. My oldest daughter has thanked us on many occasions for sending her to SJN.

I have two boys at this school; my oldest will be 8th grade next school year. I found this school to be my second family. The environment is friendly and the kids are respectful. I have volunteered on several school activities for my kids and they are all well behaved. Even when we are outside of school, other people can notice how my kids behave well and act in public and it reflects the school environment that they have been accustomed to. When I have issues or concerns, the teachers and the principal is responsive and have addressed my concerns in a timely and professional manner. We only have one chance to educate our kids the Christian way. We do not get that second chance so we have to do it right the first time.

We love the community at this school. The teachers, staff and parents have welcomed our family with open arms. Our daughter is in first grade and loves going to school. The students are getting a top notch education, building strong character, and growing in their spiritual lives at SJN. We love it here and would recommend it to anyone we know!

Our family joined the Saint John Neumann Regional Catholic School family last year. Our children came in mid-year and we were overwhelmed by how welcome they felt on the very first day. The teachers and faculty went out of their way to ensure that our children were surrounded by love and friendship. Our children are challenged by a vigorous curriculum that is based on our Catholic Faith. I feel my children will be well prepared for the demands of high school and college. We are thankful everyday that we chose SJNRCS for our two children.

The teachers have been amazing at helping my children succeed for the last 5 years. They work well with children of various abilities and personalities. As the parent of an anxious child, I have been impressed with the way that they handle his infractions. They are nurturing without coddling, and I know they are preparing them for whatever educational experience lies ahead.

I have been a parent at this school for 12 years and I can speak first hand about the caring and nurturing environment at SJNRCS. They have high academic standards and most importantly help develop you child spiritually. When my oldest started at the local public high school, I was told by the school vice principal and a few of the teachers that they loved SJNRCS kids. I knew then that I had made the right decision sending him there. The student population is diverse and gives them an opportunity to learn about other cultures on a daily basis. You will not be disappointed sending your child to SJNRCS.

As I arrived to SJNRCS this morning, I noticed a dad and his little girl having a rough time at the front door. Clearly the little girl did not want to go in and the dad was struggling. I recognized her as the new student in KB. I took her hand and she reluctantly walked through the door. Sitting in the front hall were about 6 middle school students and a few younger ones. EVERY one of them immediately smiled at her. I did some fast talking about how they used to be scared too and they all just kept smiling at her. A seventh grade girl commented on how cute her backpack was and how she loved Hello Kitty too. The KB girl moved closer to seventh grade girl and miraculously seventh grade girl produced some magic markers and some paper and was down on the floor coloring with her within seconds. THAT S why you send your children to SJNRCS. EVERY one of those students went into Mommy and Daddy mode urging KB girl on with their smiles. THAT does not happen just anywhere.

I have known Mr. Porto for almost two years now. He is a man of great discipline and faith. He is always willing to listen and take into consideration new ideas or opinions for providing quality education for the children. He has successfully initiated friendly dialogue among faculty and parents for better performance. Do not hesitate to take your genuine concerns to him. Pastor, SJN

SJNRCS Parent - Note 4/4 In a nutshell, the education our children are receiving at SJNRCS is solid, but more importantly, I have to say I love the "family" environment for which they are receiving that education. If you want your child to be babysat for 8 hours while you just go on with your own life for the day, if you want your child to be in an easy program that doesn't challenge the mind, if you want your child to look at their shoes all their life when trying to talk to others because they were thrown in a school that doesn't focus on character as well as education, if you don't want your child to learn and grow in an environment that teaches respect of others while providing an excellent education in a safe, family environment.....then go somewhere else, please go somewhere else! If, however, you want your son or daughter to obtain a solid education in a Christian/Catholic environment that will prepare them for High School and more importantly prepare them to be a person of high moral character with a genuine care for others ......then, in my humble opinion, SJNRCS is a great place to start....
