From my experience, the humans that are considered guardians of the school at Prairie Moon care only about their mere image and not about the work and services that they are providing to the students and families. I spent three years giving my all as a well trained teacher in a beautiful environment where I struggled and grew. After reflection, it is clear that I was not good enough for some people, and they were the ones making the decisions. The school is poorly run and unprofessional, the school does not communicate well with all employees and the school does not practice inclusion or diversity and does not protect the emotional health, safety and security of the teachers or students. In my experience, the school does not teach grace, compassion or mercy in an honest and heart felt way. The school allows the administration and core leadership to be consistenly clouded by personal relationships with teachers and staff in an unhealthy way where not all voices are heard.

I was not familiar with Waldorf before my son started their Early Childhood program when he was 3. He is now in Fourth Grade and in his seventh year at Prairie Moon and I am still so grateful for this incredible experience. The early childhood experience was filled with outdoor time, beautiful stories, practical work, nourishing snacks, and a beautiful daily rhythm. His grades experience has been academically rigorous - but he is not stressed out or anxious about school, rather, he loves it and cannot wait to share what he's learning.Starting in 1st grade, he has studied at least two languages each year, sometimes three, that have included Mandarin, French, Spanish, and Tagalog (Philipino). He has learned multiple musical instruments starting with the pentatonic flute in 1st grade, recorder in 3rd grade, and now violin in 4th grade. He is a rough-and-tumble kid who would rather play big physical games, but because he learned to knit and crochet at school, his fine motor skills have remained strong which supports his drawing and writing (in cursive). Because of the beautiful stories he's been experiencing since 3, his reading and comprehension has blossomed, especially in these last few years. He loves math and geography, but most of all, he just loves learning. The parent community has become an integral part of our support network as well, and I'm so thankful that we found this school when we did.

Prairie Moon Waldorf School is a hidden gem! In a town filled with wonderful preschools, PM is a shining star. I truly LOVE it. Prairie Moon Waldorf School is abundant with beauty and joy. The classrooms are calming and welcoming. The teachers are compassionate and wise. The love, attention, and quality of care my son receives has surpassed my greatest expectations. Each day I see my sons imagination, sense of self, love of animals, and compassion toward others develop through the setting and curriculum Prairie Moon Waldorf offers. The playground, complete with a tree house, sand pit, dirt pile, gardens, and much more, is a haven for young children. I highly recommend Prairie Moon to anyone seeking a nurturing environment that honors and values the early childhood years. For those seeking a grade school you need not look any further! Here their strengths will be identified and nurtured, they will learn to be critical thinkers and creative problem solvers. Becoming well rounded, intelligent young men/ woman, positively contributing to the world in their unique ways. I give Prairie Moon Waldorf my highest recommendation.

Prairie Moon Waldorf School has been an amazing educational gift to my children, both of whom went through the early childhood program and now are in the grades program. It has been amazing to watch the faculty work with them to help each grow academically and individually, all the while developing a sincere love of learning while keeping their creative desires very much alive! I had read a lot about the Waldorf curriculum prior to my children being able to experience it first hand, but could not have imagined just how wonderful it would be to watch them get to experience it over the many years they have been here. We are so grateful Prairie Moon Waldorf School will go through middle school!

Because everyday my daughter eagerly asks, "Is today a school day?" and when the answer is no, she is disappointed. She comes home excited to teach me a new song or tell me all about digging potatoes or show me a new bug she captured in the garden. I wish I went to a school like this when I was a kid, so much wonder and excitement ahead of her.
