I can not stress it enough: Kristi Hill is a bully and an absolutely horrifyingly toxic being. Putting this woman in charge of anything was a horrid idea, and ruins the entire school, which otherwise may be perfectly effective, efficient, and pleasant.

They don't do much with bullying..one teacher is a definite bully and never encourages my daughter..says to her she thinks she won't make it to 5th grade? You don't say this to a child!....My kids hate this school because of the bullying. My oldest has done a lot better since she entered west..There are a few nice teachers though.

I would ignore the person who couldn't get their child to school on time, and decided to use that as the basis to trash the entire school. Pinckney is situated in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lawrence, and serves a very diverse cross section of children - from the children of university faculty to working class families. The Principal knows every child by name, and she and the staff (including the very gracious secretary) have done a fantastic job with the students, creating a safe, welcoming environment, all while maintaining academic standards in this era of NCLB. Several students fro the school have done well in the local spelling bees and university-sponsored engineering fairs. This school is a gem, and it and the neighborhood are a five minute walk from the vibrant downtown, swimming pool, library and riverfront trails.

This school is extremely close-minded. My family was treated very poorly no matter what we did. We worked with the secretary (which should just retire and be done with it), and the principal with very poor experieneces with both. If you have the opportunity, take your child elsewhere! The school building is old, the child pick-up and drop off procedure is ridiculous and the majority of the faculty is rude. Countless times I overheard the principal congratulating different students (individually) for not being tardy. First of all, it is not the child's fault for tardiness. Secondly, being 1 minute late to sing a school song is not reason to treat any family or child poorly. I have been working with schools for almost ten years and never have experienced anything like Pinckney in my life. RUN!
