Overcrowding, AP director is not a people person. The overall consolidation was a disaster. The young and inexperienced super. pushed this change way to fast and then started interviewing for new position before even completed, just as many people predicted. The board is just out of touch with what is best for our children. Bigger is not better!

Lapeer is an AWFUL school school. The staff is rude; except for some sweet teachers that KNOW the district is bad. Not only are the schools dirty, overcrowded, messes. Their curriculum is behind compared to other schools. I feel really bad for the kids in these schools (well at least for the ones that aren't sitting there not doing their work and talking about how they are going to get their "G.E.D". Because it's NOT the kids it's the schools. They really aren't given the correct tools to succeed. The only people that claim Lapeer to be a "great" place with "great" schools are the ones who have lived there for their entire life and for some reason incredibly defensive of it. Don't even get me started on the awful city itself. Take this as a warning. YOUR KIDS WILL NOT GROW UP TO BE WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO IN THESE SCHOOLS!!

Will probably double in enrollment next year as a need to shuttle kids here do to over crowding in the new high school and to implement an idea to try to raise the test scores in the new high school by removing some of low achievers and move them here. The goal I heard is to move an additional 100 kids here from the high school. That is why the school board approved these to play sports with the new high school. Its all about how to skew the new high schools test scores to make it look like a success.
