We left VWES for many red flags but just to mention two of them. Assistant principal Heather Jackson told us that teachers need to yell to control the classroom. 2nd grade teacher was yelling all day (at another child not mine) creating a stressful environment for the rest of the class. Same teacher failed to file a report and did not send my child to the nurse after a fall from the top of the swing, all her back was scratched from the neck to mid back and she had a concussion and the same Heather Jackson told me that usually parents don’t want to hear from the school unless their kids are dying. Most of the staff is very nice and the teacher left for another school but I wouldn’t trust them with my children ever again.

I am an employee at Van Wyck and it is, in my opinion, the best school ever. There is a constant energy of positivity and high expectations for learners. Folks are supportive and respectful of every person in the building. It’s truly a wonderful place.

My son studies at Van Wyck since 2018 when the school first started and I absolutely love the staffs, teachers, from the front desk to the teacher. My son needed some extra support at the beginning because of the incompetence of his last school, and Van Wyck gave us all the support we needed with speech therapist and everything necessary to help him achieving the success. Thank you Van Wyck! You guys absolutely love our kids!
