Horrible school. Puddles of pee in boys restroom and urinals overflowing. Mold grown in bathrooms. School lunches are worse than prison food. Milk they serve is expired. Teachers are so rude for no reason. Very bad and poor environment for kids.

You need to constantly watch your kids grades not because they haven't turned it in but the teachers are late in grading or totally forget to update/input the grades. Most of the teachers are just on their phones in class according to multiple students.

My daughter is currently an 8th grader at ILMS. She has had a (mostly) wonderful 3 years at this school. The Admin team- Mr. Thorpe, Mrs. Brown, and the other administrators are top notch. Most of her teachers have been strong as well. Given the current state of education, I am pleased with how hard the adults in the building have worked to provide my child with a balanced education.

Teachers aren’t properly trained for this amount of kids.

My child started 6th grade and was very anxious about the move to middle this year. Principal Thorpe went above and beyond to make the transition a smooth one. His staff is amazing as well, especially Ms. Loughry who checked in on my child and provided updates on her progress. I really appreciate how invested they are in our child's well being and future. The teachers provide free tutoring after school for all students needing extra help. I cannot say enough about how happy we are with the school.

After 12 years in Chatlotte, we decided to leave and get our children out of the CMS school system. After much prayer and research, we landed in Indian Land and are extremely happy with our new life here. Our oldest son struggled last year and hated going to school everyday. Now he loves going to school and has lots of friends. This school has been such a blessing to our family. Nothing feels better than knowing your kids are in good hands when not in your care. I cannot say enough about the principle Mr. Thorpe. This man is an excellent person. He is by far the best principle we've ever seen. In fact, he is the main reason I came on to leave this review. He genuinely cares about the school, the students and the parents. Sometimes he even directs morning traffic. He is awesome! Also, our sons team of teachers so far have been excellent and have been a pleasure to work with so far. The teachers seem to be passionate about what they do and have great knowledge about what they are teaching. Overall, this school has been fantastic!

I love the principal, the front office staff, the educators, and the custodians! They were great while my daughters attended school there. Both my daughters attended when Mr. McDonald was principal and when he was named 2012 South Carolina Middle School Principal of the Year. When I heard he was moving on after receiving that award, I was so worried because my younger daughter still had two years left at the middle school. It was announced Mr. Chris Thorpe was going to be the new school principal and I thought, boy does he have HUGE shoes to fill. Let me tell you all something, I didn't think he'd be able to fill them. Guess what, I was wrong. He busted out those seams and his toes made holes right out the front of those shoes! The school is better than ever. Principal Thorpe connects with those children like no other. Yeah, he looks all stern and serious and sometimes downright scary as hell, but he wears his heart on his sleeve. Coming from a parents view, I admire and respect him greatly. When you have a fair leader, who is sympathetic and enthusiastic about the children in his school, it is amazing how it makes everyone feel and great to watch the positivity that lurks in every corner of that school. He's out there directing traffic when our sheriff can't be there (rain or shine). He's out there in the teacher parking lot picking up debris and trash flying around. He's out there every single morning to greet the children and parents on the car pool line. He's at all the games when he can be there. (I know the nerve, he has a life after school, imagine that). It all starts from great leadership. He placed this sign up in the school, "How did you change the world today?" They aren't just words he typed up on a piece of paper to display in the hallway. They are words that he along with each person on that payroll thinks about every day they step into that school. The belief behind it is centered on our actions towards others. Treat everyone with dignity and respect. No matter what your differences are. Second is to teach the children and be engaging, be present! Give fantastic instruction! When you start off your day thinking that, 9 times out of 10, you will make a positive change. Thanks for giving my family a safe environment to learn and grow. Shout out to Mrs. Pat, miss your gentle kindness.

The school is overall a good school. The new principal is very involved and is moving the school in the right direction. However, I am so disappointed with the athletic programs...mainly football. The athletic director is not the best person for the job. There is so much athletic talent in the school but the coaching is the worst that I've ever seen. If you are considering moving your child to this school....good choice. But if you are are looking for a good (it's not even good) athletic program....DO NOT bring your child here....you will regret it!!! Athletic directors should not be coaches....recipe for disaster). The head coach has been so disappointing over the years. A few of the coaches are rec center coaches....go figure! Don't even think it will get better in high school...the profanity is outrageous!!
