We have been very disappointed with Dunstan. There is a real lack of support and communication at this school.

Terrible school. Admin and teachers seem to care about students in the abstract, but not actually helping them succeed. Stay far away from this school.

My girls had a great experience. Outstanding academics felt safe and supported. Both are now in all honors classes in high school and doing great!

It's really hit or miss when it comes to staff/teachers. Some teachers/staff are charming and helpful, others not so much. For example not every teacher makes their class engaging for their students. The school has weird policies on disputes concerning students such as:- If you are in a physical fight, you can't defend yourself even if you get hurt badly. (Fighting back = 3-day Suspension)- You can't record a fight. (Recording a Fight = 3 day Suspension)They also have ways of "fixing" conflict with anyone in the school and the methods are often unfair, unnecessary, or inadequate to the severity of the situation. The school tends to be biased toward students when they have a conflict with a teacher/staff member. When the students come to talk to a counselor/dean they tend to ignore the conflict the student has especially when the student is struggling with other students. They do have lots to offer for their students when we look at the academic aspect of the school, after-school clubs and classes like:-Mythology-Spanish-Art/Ceramics-Band/Orchestra-Choir

As a student at Dunstan middle, the bullying is horrible, the teachers do not bother to motivate you to learn, neither are they good at teaching. 90% of the teacher's speed run kids learning. The teachers need to consider that we only go through middle school once, not every kid but MOST want to be able to leave middle school with actual knowledge.

8 out of 10. Dunstan offers so many electives that feed into the high schools, there are tons of clubs and the teachers genuinely support the students' needs.

Dunstan is a forward thinking neighborhood school and we have been very pleased with our experience for both of our students. Dr. Pennell is a great addition to the school and brings her passion and energy for a positive student experience. The GM articulation area is a tight knit community and the academy and pathways program is present in Dunstan which gives the students a variety of electives to choose from and experience. We are proud to be a part of the Dunstan community and look forward to our 3rd child heading there in the near future.

Fantastic! I would recommend Dunstan to any family looking for a well balanced opportunity to learn and grow.

Over all I think dunstan is a great school, with outstanding teachers and staff. I feel blessed to have such an amazing school in the community I live in.

Horrible. You need to be white and christian to have any chance to survive this school. And if you don't already have a "gang" from elementary school, you are in deep trouble. The clicks were formed in elementary school around here. I'm sorry we didn't move here sooner or I'm sorry we moved here at all.

Not good. We are looking for another school for our son for next year. One that has a caring and compassionate principal.

Communication from the school to parents is terrible. For example the day we were supposed to register at the school we all stood in a looooong line because we had apparently MAYBE not already filled out forms online. They didn't care if you had or not, so there was no point in completing this early. In addition the instructions to register were incomplete so most parents didn't do it properly. Teachers don't get back to parents, whether it's an email or a phone call. Teachers don't record assignments when they are turned in because apparently that's too much work, so you check your child's grades and even safety notices, etc. that the kids signed at beginning of the year shows as not turned in. No notice about teacher conferences either. Every minute of trying to work with this school has been a nightmare.

With my oldest kids, this was a great school. However, not any more. Too many veteran teachers have left over the past few years. The admin is cold and overreactive.

Classes at Dunstan begin at 7:15 am, which is ridiculously early for middle school kids. It is also very inconvenient for parents who still have kids at the elementary school next door where classes start at 9. Plus studies have shown that middle school kids perform much better with later start time. My son has an early bed time but has a hard time getting to school by 7:15. Start time needs to be moved to 8 am.

This is very good school. Over all, the teachers are invested in the success of the students. Teachers regular stay after school, come in early and stay in for lunch to meet with students and provide additional support. The teachers at this school are professionals. The administration is communicative and helpful when contacted. The counselors are helpful and responsive to student and parent needs. The school does not get a 5 because well as with all schools there are some teachers that are difficult to work with.

I am a parent that has put 3 children through this school. Education is unsatisfactory and teachers seem to give up half way through the school year. I would NOT recommend this school. If you have the opportunity to open enroll somewhere else DO IT! I tired to intervene but always met resistance. My 2 eldest are now honors students in college. No thanks to Dunstan nor the Jeffco HS they attended.

This is by far the best middle school around. The teachers are fantastic, the math is way advanced (2/3 of kids are above grade level in math), there is a strong anti-bullying policy and for a middle school to have virtually no bullying is amazing. Everyone is nice to each other and the principal is great and loves the kids. They have a strong connection to their high school, Green Mountain, and the overall community between the middle and high school is phenomenal!

I Hate this place. I ran around all of Jefferson County AND Denver Public Schools looking for a new school all summer long. Yeah, the academics and learning is great but the bullying has made Dunstan the most hated school by students. The 8th grade went wayyy down because TONS of people left. I learned alot, but the bullying has driven me nuts. Its not JUST about the academics.
