I love that the school includes the community in everything they do. Administration, teachers and students are at feeder schools regularly, business partners are invited to Advisory Board meetings to give input on programming, and community members are invited to participate in events like mock interviews and Capstone senior boards. They really emphasize the importance of community.

The school does a great job making learning relevant. The Academy Program is an awesome way for students to connect their learning to college and career options in their future. Even though the facility is old, they make the most of it and have strong school spirit. Their communication with students, parents, community and businesses is excellent, and they involve all stakeholders in decision making. I have never seen a school with so much support from every group of people. They seem to use the "it takes a village" approach to educate their students and tap in to so many resources to give students opportunities other schools don't. The community feeling of GM "(RamNation) is truly special.

Outstanding and caring teachers and staff. Involved, caring and highly competent Principal. Involved parents, family community, good kids. High academics and many different clubs, electives, options for kids of all interests. Staff really looks out for and cares for kids. Students have many opportunities to be highly successful. Would not send my kids anywhere else!

BEWARE! Stay away!. This school has continued to decline. School is surrounded by bulling. The students are strong in groups and the teachers simply ignore the very obvious signs. The worst part of the school is the Vice Principle, he uses bully acts to interrogate students. The Principle seems to never be involved with problems at the school, she lets the Vice Principles handle problems. She has no idea about the problems at the school as she is not involved. The only positive comment I can mention is that the Security Guards are aware of the abundant problems and are trying to help out as much as they can. Parents have met with the Principle about problems with the teachers and it has gone to deaf ears. So long GMHS, maybe some new houses in your place soon!

GMHS is good at putting on a "dog and pony show" for parents. Be aware; this is a horrible High School. Do not send your child here, especially if they have an IEP. They do not have any Autism programs, they do not implement the IEP's properly, and do not keep parents informed. In order to protect the Administration, GMHS will give the appearance of providing services but it is the bare minimum (if that). They do not properly address parent's and teacher's concerns and do not give any support in general classrooms even when required to do so by an IEP. Be prepared for unanswered emails of questions you may have or very vague, general answers. If you are looking for a decent education for your child that is from a kind, caring, and honest Administration, you won't find it from GMHS.

Green Mountain is in my opinion the best school anyone could go to as a public school, not only dose it have a strong community base but the relashionships you can build with teachers us out standing Green Mountain has the reputation of the druggie school but what school doesn't have a drug problem? Our student body couldn't be any better we have a great family feel to it. Honestly it comes down to how hard you try to become apart of this school all my teachers were great to me and helped me when I need trouble those same teachers were the ones everyone said was mean. Green Mountain is no D'Evelen but to succeed here youre going to have to try just as hard as anyone else.

GREEN MOUNTAIN IS AWESOME! It is community based, with tons of parent and community involvement from everything such as its annual Ram Run to the parent run After-Prom Committee! Many of the teachers are GM graduates themselves and genuinely care about their students. They are open to meet with before school,, especially on Wednesdays (starts 8:30) and Thursdays (starts 8:00,) as well as after school. Though the facilities are older, the new Beautification Club has been busy planting greenery, painting, and sprucing things up! There are tons of clubs/activities students can take advantage of, with new ones popping up each year, such as POMS, FBLA, and BIONIC (and MANY more)! With the Academy Program (the only one in Jeffco), students can focus on their interests/future by taking classes in their pathway(s) and then graduate with special recognition for completion. AP and Honors classes are available for numerous classes, providing the student the option as to which classes they would like to pursue with more vigor. Students are very accepting of one another, and there are no specific cliques or exclusions. GM has become my home away from home--I love it here! GO RAMS!

Love Green Mountain High School!! I have a graduate and a current sophomore. The pride and passion for education in this school amazes me everyday, I can't imagine sending my children anywhere else. A fabulous neighborhood high school that has found a solution for all level of students in the Academy Program...this program allows for the high achieving students to excel and for those students who struggle with motivation to find the relevance they need. If you are looking for a quality well-rounded high school education for your student you need to visit Green Mountain!

I would not send my children anywhere else and highly recommend Green Mountain to any family looking for a well-rounded quality education for their student. The passion for teaching is amazing. The administration has created a collaboration of community businesses and parents that has become a model for other Jeffco Schools. The school pride and caring student environment is one of their best assets. Green Mountain offers a mix of rigor and relevance that provides the opportunity for students to be successful in whatever they choose to pursue following graduation.

I am one of the many parents that has moved my student to another Jeffco school. Gr Mt is our neighborhood school, but it is horrible. Just as others have stated. The staff are rude or don't care. Parent involvement is only wanted when the school needs money. We tranferred to another Jeffco school. There are many of the same problems, but not as severe.

The teachers, most of them are great and caring. The new administration is lacking guidance both for the students and the teachers. The schools enrollment was down 400 in 11/12 school year. This upcoming school year 12/13 many parents are opting not to send their kids back. This school needs a strong principal to get this school back on track.

Overall, this school is good. It has all the same problems that every other public school has (chilches, bullying) just as much as any other school. I have to say though. the comments about cliches are true but bullying is a little less than ordinary. cliches, in my mind , are based totally off economic class or popularity 9sports clubs, going to proir schools w/people before.) There are many opportunities like clubs, AP/Honors classes, but like it everyother school I have seen, the student have to motivate themselves. What parents don't realize also that parents have to play a role and kind-of restrain their chidren, aka parent. Though there have been many changes to the county budget . this school has taken them in stride and hasdone the best with what they have.

Green Mountain high school is undergoing major changes. WIth a new principal and three new assistant principals in 2011, the reviews about poor leadership I have read seem obsolete. The teachers I know care deeply about this school and its students. There are dozens of student clubs and organizations who work to welcome new students, help students in need, build school spirit and get everyone involved. The student body is changing too, and becoming more diverse than ever. I am proud to be a part of the Green Mountain community.

This is overall a great school. As with all schools there are cliches but unlike other schools people have an understanding with each other and there is almost no bullying. Some teachers are very nice and communicate with students and others are in the completely wrong profession for them. Admins are a whole different issue; they are horrible. There is no personal connection and when student come to them with something it is as if its an inconvience for them to help a student. The security really cares about the students though. They get to know them personally and are always looking out for them. For students who truely care about their education the Advanced Placement classes at GMHS are spectacular with teachers that truely know their stuff.

I have two daughters at this school. I think they have received an execptional education, and this would be supported by academic scholarships offered, and scores on the ACT which place my oldest in the top percentages compared to other students across the nation. My experience is that the majority of the teachers do a great job, there are a couple that do not relate as well with the students, or struggle in teaching to different learning styles. Overall, they truly want the students to master content, and are enthused about student learning. My middle daughter has a learning disability, she has had to learn to advocate for herself, but her teacher's do make accommodations that allow her to be a successful student. There are problems in any high school, so much of it for any student, is who they choose as friends, and how much effort are they willing to put forth. We need to learn to support community, through good and bad, if you do our children can learn a lot about perseverance, caring for others, see the resilience within themselves. With their BIOIC club, and other programming, they do want to help develop educated citizens, with great character.
