New principal Kompelien makes you sign in your kids late even if it’s 8:00 on the dot. I was the only parent she made do this, probably because we’re minority. Beware, you will be racially profiled. My son also has been bullied and not much has been done about it. They need to take that Karen energy about “tardies” and put it towards disciplining students who bully others.

My daughter is on second grade here. She just love it. This is also her second year at this school too. Everything is great and she is making progress with her study as well. Her grade is now Excellent on everything. My daughter just loves her teacher so much that she keeps talking about her and even make small cards for her teachers and well. The only thing I might not like much is the look of the school from outside. It looks just very old and the playground are kind of boring based on my opinion.

My son attended 1st grade and is now in 2nd here and this school is extremely frustrating. They don't foster a very welcoming environment for parents to be in the school. The office ladies are anything but friendly and act bothered by you being there. Unless your coming to have lunch with your kid they don't want you there. We transferred in 1st grade to this school and on the first day for us we met the teacher for 5 seconds as they were rushing us out. Bad taste in my mouth ever since then and nothing has changed. And it's not a security issue as the front door remains unlocked, the office is feet from that door and doesn't have direct view. As well as they don't have classrooms. It's all open. Oh AND siblings aren't allowed at the one party they have the entire school year for 45 minutes. Between working parents and parents at home with siblings another way of eliminating most people from attending! Ugh. On a good note the neighborhood is great.

My child attended Krahn elementary from K-2nd. My son was bullied by other children, and I never saw any initiative taken by the teachers. Every day was miserable for him. I saw a direct correlation with his school work. The school looked nice from the outside but that doesn't change the negative and emotional experience my son got from it.

This will be my child's second year there. I feel like the teachers or should I say my daughters 2nd grade teachers didn't care. If you choose to be a teacher then you should enjoy teaching kids and not half do it or show no concern. I had to contact both teachers regarding grades I was not aware of until progress report or report card. Why ask for parents contact details if you do not use them. This is an older school in Klein and I feel they do not put forth the effort or have enthusiasm to teach like newer schools in the area ( one my child attended before moving). Hoping this year they hired new teachers who have not lost their drive to teach. Hoping for a better year.

Not a good school for special education. They are very protective of their resources and very little goes towards the special education programs. Staff is friendly, it's just difficult to get services.

Very positive attitude and welcoming campus. Kids seem genuinely happy there. Administration, faculty, and staff have all been positive, so far. We are happy to be there and recommend!

Klein ISD doesn't do enough for special education needs. Rather than using a resource room where a child can get small group or individual instruction, they only use paras in the classroom and give you a minimal amount of time (like 20-30 minutes a day). My daughter was not making any progress and after we moved to another school district I realized she was unable to do any work independently, because she was used to having a para "do it for her". Krahn is too crowded and every year there are major viral illnesses that will keep children out for a week at a time because they don't do enough to clean. One year for several weeks it was so bad students were vomiting in the halls, classrooms, lunch room, etc. There were so many teachers out sick that classes had to be combined. This school is dirty and a haven for germs and viruses.

Both of my children are Krahn Cardinals. Teachers are excellent, staff is pleasant, atmosphere is calm and positive.
