They dressed the kids up as Natives and pilgrims and gaslighted me when I questioned them about it. Lacks diversity

We have 3 kids here and this is our first year at Blackshear. We absolutely love it here! The principal and her team are very involved in every aspect and they are always looking for ways to do more for the kids and the families. The teachers are wonderful and very willing to communicate with the parents. They also have a new PTO board that is working in tandem with the administration to think outside the box. Can't say enough good things about this school!

I've been watching the Principal for the past 8 years since we moved into the area. Very, very impressed with Principal Ludecker and his team. Motivation amongst teachers seems high, teachers mostly seem happy. Ludecker was head of Kohrville elementary and I watched him guide that school to be amongst the most highly rated schools in the district. Now he is at Blackshear this school will be amongst the best in the district too. His management style I can see is tough but he also knows how to turn on the charm. We're very lucky to currently have two of our kids at this school. Our eldest did well despite his learning difficulties and Mr Ludeckers team gave him a good start for his middle school years. Thank you folks, keep up the good work.

My kids have attended Blackshear since they opened two years ago. we are very pleased with the teachers and stuff at the school. The teachers that my students have had so far have been very helpful in challenging their students to perform to their greatest potential. I love the campus, the fact that iit is new and that they have state of the art technology. Everything seems to be in its place and well run. Overall I really like the school

My daughter will be entering the fourth grade this year. She hated that she had to take a summer break. The teachers are there when you need them, the office staff is kind and friendly, and parent interaction is encouraged. Dr. Ludecker is a fabulous principal, always remembering my kids names (and no, not because they get into trouble) The chorale program is top notch!

My child has attended 3rd and now 4th grade at this school. Every single one of his teachers has been fantastic. In third grade, he had a Language Arts teacher who really got him excited about reading by helping him find things that he liked to read about. This year, his science and math teacher is phenomenal. She genuinely takes interest in the students and does everything she can to engage them. The principal is regularly on campus and even helps in the car rider line. The school counselor cares about the kids and even the librarian knows them by name. My child is in the G/T program and sometimes needs to be challenged outside of the curriculm. The teachers have gone above and beyond to do this. Negatives: no bus transportation for the majority of students, very few opportunities for parental involvement, limited extra curricular activities
