110 out of 100! My children have all flourished here and the entire staff has been wonderful.

My students have come out of this school happy. They have flourish because of the teachers. The Principal could use some communication skills with both parents and students. The many years we have been there we have not seen any interactions with parents unless the parent approaches her or if they do something wrong with her strict rules. We moved from this school and it is night and day. She has lost quite a few teachers because her. I have heard of other parents decide to home school because of this Principal. Some parents avoid this school if possible and decide to find other schools for their students to go. Of all the years we have been there and have met a lot of wonderful parents, but have told me they had enough and move on to other schools.

Exley is a wonderful school! The teachers are knowledgeable, patient, and loving. The principal is super friendly and goes above and beyond to develop relationships with students and parents. We have found the best school with the best staff in Texas!

We moved to Houston from abroad, where my son was in an expensive international school. Exley and its teachers have provided an outstanding experience that meets and exceeds our prior experience with these schools! Excellent leadership filters down to dedicated educators.

We moved to Exley from another district this year & have already seen a huge difference in our 4th grade son's attitude toward school. Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Vu have both succeeded in reigniting his attitude toward learning. School is fun & meaningful for him again. For that my husband and I are endlessly grateful!

Great School and teacher, but front office or admin staff can be improved, lacking mannerism and cooperation when communicating to parents.

I forgot to mention the front office staff is extremely rude! The admin lack basic manners when speaking to parents.

If you have a special needs child then this school is not for you. My child ADHD and is in the high functioning autistic spectrum and I get reports from him and his teachers everyday that shows me they cannot and do not know how to deal with a child that is not "normal". All this school wants to do is put hard to handle children in ISS so that they do not have to deal with them.IF YOUR CHILD IS AUTISTIC RUN FROM THIS SCHOOL

Joella Exley Elementary provides my child an open opportunities for learning. My daughter has access to many educational websites in all subjects. The materials provided in the class are very informative, advanced, and up to date. I am very appreciative to Exley's staff. The only negative point that I have noticed is sometimes when my daughter makes mistake on a test, she will come home with the mistake is corrected, but she still does not understand her mistake! I think More feedback back and more interaction between the students and the teacher might resolve this issue.

I've been a parent at Exley Elementary school for 8 years. I've been a teacher there for 6. I have seen principals , teachers, and staff come and go but the quality of education has stayed constant. The students are amazingly smart and most are exceptionally well behaved. I have not witnessed discrimination of minorities. On the contrary, I've seen nothing but compassion and respect.

My child is in this school, and I wish we would have chosen another district when we moved to the area. The teachers are mostly great, but the principal is awful. For instance, the children don't get the mere 27 minutes of physical activity TX recommends each day. Recess is 20 minutes per day, so when they walk to and from classrooms, they must do it in complete silence to make up for those 7 lost minutes. In addition, she puts the school on silent lockdown during test times with NO recess for any kids on those days, not even ones not being tested. She also has serious social issues. If for some reason, you walk into the school with your child for an event or something, she only addresses the child, and completely ignores you, the parent. She also ignores the concerns of parents. When a few of them complained about how a teacher roughly handled a child in line to walk home, she dismissed the complaints and even tried to excuse the teacher's behavior. Also, the PTA is clicky. The school could greatly improve with a better principal. She just started 2 years ago, so we may be out of luck.
