Three of my four children have attended Fielder Elementary School in Katy, Tx. It is one of two elementary schools that administers the TWI (Two Way Immersion) Program which facilitates bilingual learning for both English speaking children and Spanish speaking children. My daughter just graduated 5th grade and is now fluent in Spanish. Not only will the dual language capability better prepare here for the future, but learning the culture outside her own will diversify her in ways that are immeasurable. Love the school and program!

Fielder is one of the BEST schools I know. The teachers are very caring for the students, and the PTA is very wonderful. The students, teachers, parents, and PTA is what makes Fielder one of the best schools in Texas

The staff is passionate about ALL students, not just bilingual, esl, or special education. There are no hallways dedicated to specific programs or languages. We live in a diverse world and Fielder Elementary is representative of this great diversity. The only parents that don't like the diversity want their child to live in a bubble of homogeneous white students who speak English. I am a regular education monolingual English teacher and I'm proud of all that Fielder has to offer.

The new administration has set this school on a new path. There is a warm and friendly environment and the staff seems really happy to be at work now. Parents continue to be very involved. Great School!!

My daughter went to this school for three years. I was very excited to start in katy, but I was very disappointed after attending this school. The previous comment s about English as a second language being the primary focus are spot on. If I had been told this before we enrolled I would have never chose this school. The front office staff are VERY rude every time I went in there. I felt like an outsider in my home state not being able to speak spanish which is all this school caters too. So glad we have changed schools. By the end of the 2013-14 semester I can honestly say that I HATED this school.

My daughter has been at Fielder for a year and a half. What a wonderful school it is. She has been blessed with caring, wonderful teachers who take the time to talk to both her and us regularly. The administration seems great and the PTA is very involved and does a lot of wonderful things for the school. The parents in general also seem to have formed a tight night group and I like that as well. She still has many years to go at Fielder but I feel blessed that this is our child's school.

The teachers my daughter has had the last two years have been wonderful. She comes home from school excited to learn and actually hopes for more homework. Additionally, they are wonderful at keeping parents informed about the goings on in their classrooms and answering questions. The administration on the other hand, leaves me frustrate. They have no problem sending out principal emails and leaving school system voicemails reminding you about the latest opportunity to spend money on this or that activity, but they are dangerously hesitant to report bad news. Twice she's had incidents on the bus, and both times we had to find out another way (once from our daughter, once from a profusely apologetic other parent). Twice dead bats have been found on campus, with delayed information about the animal and rabies exposure. Multiple occurrences of lice, where parents were only generally notified after repeated complaints from parents who heard from other parents. I wonder if I am being too hard on the administration, but I've seen other school where they seem genuinely concerned about the kids. I don't feel that here.

Fielder is a very large school and is 20 years old. However, I do not feel my child gets lost or overlooked and the school is well maintained. There is a lot of parent involvement and the PTA is top notch. My child has gotten a great education with lots of extra opportunities. Additionally, he is on an IEP and his extra needs were quickly identified and met. I have found the teachers and administration to be easy to communicate with. My one complaint would be the car pick up and drop off lines. It seems that most students are no longer eligible for a bus due to cutbacks of some sort. It is not unusual to wait 30 minutes in line to pick up my child and the car congestion around the school can be overwhelming during these times.

I was a student at Fielder Elemantary for pre-k through 5th grade and it was an outstanding experience! I dont agree with the comments that say that it is only a good school for kids that are in the bilingual program because, i was in both programs, bilingual and regular. I absolutely recommend this school to anybody. These days in any school its common to see bullying, truthfully, i really didnt experience that or see it happening. Teachers are extremely nice professional, outgoing, and reasonable sometimes, though, they can be alittle srtict but... Come to this school!!!! It is highly recommended by an average good student! :)

The entire 4th grade has been in portable buildings for at least the last six years that I am aware of after moving from another KISD school. This school offers several different programs in addition to regular education. Fielder has an AB (adaptive behavior) unit, pre-k program and bilingual and TWI programs for grades K-5. Yes, there is a hallway dedicated to "Pre-K" which FYI is also offered at other KISD schools. There is no such thing as a "bilingual hallway". Apparently you don't come to your child's school or you would know that. There is a hallway for each and every grade level and within those halls you will find the mix of bilingual and TWO classrooms for that grade level. Unfortunately, KISD is such a fast growing community and portable buildings have become a commodity on just about every campus - drive around and see for yourself! No matter if there is strictly regular education offered or a variety of programs at a school you are going to find that at just about every school in KISD there are portables on campus. It is unfortunate that someone is going to have to be placed in those buildings to accommodate the growth.

Fielder is the best school for bilingual students but for regular students it is one of the worst in Texas. They pushed the whole fourth grade out into portables so they could have a bilingual hallway. There is even a bilingual pre-school that takes up a hallway. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL ZONE.

I do not like the school at all. When i moved to katyisd i was thinking my child was going to get a good educations,Wrong, there priority at this school is bilingual student. I think that they should ask parents if they want there child to go a bilingual school. My thing is every child should be a priority and not one set of children. All i can say is katyisd am so disappointed in you.

Excellent school. We just had our second annual science fair. I believe we are the only elementary school in our area that has a science fair! It was a positive experience. The teachers are very caring and go the extra mile.
